IDP Waiver Wire – Week 16

Craig Robertson BrownsIt’s Championship week in fantasy football league run by sane commissioners, those of you unfortunate enough to have to plan for Week 17, think about changing the rules, or the commish… Regardless of all that, good luck this week!

The approach to the waiver wire this week is twofold; firstly we’ll look for the hot hands – players with the most fantasy form over the last six weeks, and secondly, matchups – which teams have been the most beneficial for opponents over the last six weeks. We’re playing for all the marbles now, so no time for ifs, buts and maybes. We need players playing well, or facing a matchup they can exploit.

Four sacks and five tackles for a loss in the last six games have led to Desmond Bryant scoring as a DE1 since Week 10, and a Week 16 clash with the ninth best matchup for defensive ends, the Panthers, bodes well for fantasy owners scrambling for some waiver wire value. The Panthers have only given up a couple of double-digit fantasy games in that period though, so don’t get too carried away. Expect a low-end DE2 outing from Bryant this week.To read the entire article, please login or sign up for a PFF Fantasy Subscription

The only league that I play in that uses week 17 has 32 teams and has the same divisions as the nfl. We really need that extra week to get down to 2 teams.
