This week the IDP Snap Report reverts back to a more usual format, where we look at players who saw more or less snaps than usual. It’s important to look at why there was an increase or decrease in snaps in order to see if this was something unusual, or a start of things to come. In Week 2, there were a number of players who weren’t quite ready to go in Week 1 who saw a high number of snaps.
Jasper Brinkley
In Week 1 we saw a nine tackle performance out of Brinkley, and this was followed by a one tackle game in Week 2. A large reason for that is the Cardinals spent over half the game in the dime defense to counteract the Lions using three receiver sets over 75% of the time. Jasper Brinkley doesn’t play in the dime defense, so his lack of snaps cause the lack of fantasy production. He should play better in Week 3 and Week 4, but once Daryl Washington returns, we could very well see Brinkley not seeing any snaps with the defense.
