In this weekly column I’ll highlight some top IDP options that aren’t always “must-start” players. I’ll also hit on some of the players most likely to disappoint this week.
Here’s complete season and weekly projections that can be customized to your league’s scoring for all those tough start/sit calls. For specific questions you can always ask me via twitter @NateNFL.
Defensive Line
Start
Jerry Hughes DL2 vs NYJ
After a slow start to the season Hughes has been on fire the last three weeks. He's posted four and a half sacks to go along with 12 solo tackles and six assists.
I don't expect him to slow down this week against a Jet's offense in disarray. The 2010 first round pick of the Colts has finally found his form as the dominant pass rusher he was drafted to be. Keep him in your lineup moving forward unless your team is absolutely stacked along the defensive front.
Michael Johnson DL2 vs MIN
Johnson had a huge day against the Steelers in week 4 but struggled the next two weeks heading into the Bucs bye week. Now refreshed after the week off I expect him to regain his top 24 form.
The Vikings should provide a decent matchup and Johnson should finally be healthy after missing the week 2 contest against the Rams.
