IDP Lineup Decisions – Week 16

Bengals' Dunlap celebrates after sacking Steelers' Roethlisberger during the first half of play in their NFL football game at Paul Brown Stadium in CincinnatiIn this weekly column I’ll highlight some top IDP options that aren’t always “must-start” players. I’ll also hit on some of the players most likely to disappoint this week.

Here’s complete season and weekly projections that can be customized to your league’s scoring for all those tough start/sit calls. For specific questions you can always ask me via twitter @NateNFL.

Defensive Line

Start

Carlos Dunlap DL1 vs DEN

Why lead a start-sit column with a player ranked inside the top 12 at his position? It’s championship week baby, which means your team is probably pretty stacked. Add in the fact that Dunlap is right on the DL1/DL2 and he’s going up against Peyton Manning and you get the picture.

Don’t be afraid to roll with Dunlap this week. The matchup may not be ideal but always start your studs. And never, ever get too cute with your lineup in the week’s final season. The Bengals defense is playing well, Dunlap was extremely active last week and even if he doesn’t get Manning on the ground he should have a solid day.

Cameron Jordan DL2 vs ATL

The NFC South is trying to break the record for the worst division ever in the history of football. Lucky for the division one team has to win this week. The Saints defense should be really aggressive and Jordan is a solid play.
