Home Stats Crew: Moderate to high volume total tackles; Neutral solo/assist ratio

Jerrell Freeman managed to get back on the field for the Colts and put up seven total tackles (five solo) in Week 5. Freeman is back in the LB2 tier, which also bumps D’Qwell Jackson back down. At this point, I’d feel more comfortable with Freeman than I would be with Jackson. Consider Freeman an LB2, while Jackson is more of an LB3. … Bjoern Werner was excellent last week, posting two sacks on six QB pressures. Don’t get too carried away with this though. Eugene Monroe was sidelined, so Werner got a cupcake matchup against James Hurst.

Yes, Brian Cushing had another good game in the box score with eight total tackles (five solo) in Week 5, but he’s still not playing every down. Without those snaps, it’s really tough to trust him as anything more than an LB3. Without a three-down role, Cushing’s production will be very volatile and matchup-dependent. That’s not the idea profile for fantasy success. … Both Johnathan Joseph and Kareem Jackson put up nine total tackles last week against Dallas, but this isn’t a sign of things to come with Jackson. Don’t chase last week’s numbers. He’s not going to be a consistent fantasy option. However, Joseph is very intriguing here. According to Mike Clay’s wide receiver matchup chart, Joseph will likely be on T.Y. Hilton on Thursday night. Hilton has seen 49 targets in five games so far this season, so there will be plenty of targets thrown into Joseph’s coverage. That means a good chance for strong production here. Joseph is a borderline DB2 who is a must start in CB-required leagues.
