Grades for Jets-Lions

Here are the top takeaways from Thursday night’s Jets-Lions game, including the highest- and lowest-graded players for each team:

Jets:

–Lorenzo Mauldin didn’t have a game to remember, notching just one pressure – a play in which he was unblocked and then managed to miss the tackle on QB Kellen Moore, allowing him to scramble away and convert the first down.

–Bryce Petty completed just 10 of 18 passes for 50 yards with nothing completed over 10-yards down field. He also had to be forcibly shoved under center by RB Bilal Powell when he either forgot or wasn’t aware he should be on a play.

–Darrelle Revis only played ten snaps, and he wasn’t targeted, but he was involved in the play a couple of times, making plays against the run including chasing down Ameer Abdullah on his long run.

Top 5 graded players:

Ben Ijalana (+1.9)

Nick Mangold (+1.8)

Deon Simon (+1.6)

Ronald Talley (+1.5)

Leger Douzable (+1.4)

Lions

–Life after Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairly was bumpy in this game. Tyrunn Walker and Caraun Reid started at DT and both graded negatively, especially against the run.

–Ameer Abdullah had the big run and looked sharp, but Theo Riddick also put his hand up for a role in this offense, and could earn a larger one the longer Joique Bell is out.

–Taylor Boggs was the standout performer on the line for the Lions, routinely making solid blocks and moving bodies for the Detroit running backs.

Top 5 graded players:

Taylor Boggs (+5.4)

Greg Salas (+3.2)

Michael Williams (+2.9)

Golden Tate (+2.4)

Corey Wooton + Laken Tomlinson (both +2.2)
