Grades for Falcons-Ravens

Here are the top takeaways and highest-graded players from the Ravens-Falcons game, including the highest graded players from each team:

Ravens:

–Undrafted rookie free agent C Nick Easton continued to impress with a +2.4 overall grade. Easton has now graded positively in all four preseason games after allowing just 1 QB hurry, and earning a +7.7 run blocking grade.

–Former 2013 second rounder ILB Arthur Brown finished with a game-best +5.4 overall grade after earning positive marks in run defense, pass coverage and pass rushing. He’s shown nothing in his first two seasons.

–Third-round pick NT Carl Davis (+2.6) continued his strong preseason play, with his third game of +2.0 or higher. Davis maintained the solid run defense that he has marked his entry into the NFL and also added a sack and a batted pass.

Top Performers:

ILB Arthur Brown (+5.4)

LE Kapron Lewis-Moore (+4.2)

CB Asa Jackson (+2.8)

NT Carl Davis (+2.6)

ILB Andrew Bose (+2.5)

Falcons:

–Rookie fifth-rounder DT Grady Jarrett led the team with a +2.5 overall grade, picking up 5 run stops and a sack.

–LG Jared Smith earned a game-low -6.9 overall grade, and had a tough time both in the run game (-5.2) and in pass protection (4 hurries allowed).

–DT Joey Mbu’s -4.5 overall grade was the worst of any Falcons defender. Mbu struggled against the run (-3.6), and failed to record a pressure in his 20 pass rushes.

Top Performers:

DT Grady Jarrett (+2.5)

FB Collin Mooney (+1.3)

CB Kevin White (+1.2)

LB Derek Akunne (+1.1)

DE O’Brien Schofield (+0.9)

i love pro-football focus, and i usually agree with almost everything. I am a ravens fan, and i would like to know how asa jackson received a positive grade. Is this a mistake? He fumbled on a return , he broke his own ankles on a return, he surrendered a huge touchdown, his coverage was awful, and well obviously the ravens released him the next day. So please explain how asa jackson received a positive grade.

I guess because there’s a limit on the amount of negative points you can get per snap. So if you make 2-4 huge mistakes in a game and the other 40 snaps you play slightly above average, you’ll get a good grade even though you actually played badly.
