Week 11's top IDP waiver wire pickups

We’re looking a little deeper than usual in the Week 11 IDP waiver wire article, although there will be some names you’ll be familiar with if you’ve been a regular reader of this column.

Let's get right to it.

Pass Rushers

I’ve been pushing Mario Edwards Jr. for the last few weeks, and hopefully some of you made the move to add him to your rosters. The Oakland rookie had a breakout game in Week 10, leading all defensive ends in our scoring system thanks to 11 total tackles (eight solo) and a sack. He looks set to remain a key contributor. In his five starts, he’s graded over +2.0 three times, registering a further two hits and 11 hurries on top of two sacks. He’s more impressive against the run, and has 15 stops on the season, which accounts for 62.5 percent of his tackles (as recorded by PFF). I’m still of the opinion that Edwards will struggle to be a double-digit sack type of scorer, but as shown by Calais Campbell, you can be a very good fantasy end, even without that sack upside. Edwards is a high-floor borderline DL2/3 because of his tackle production.

Few players have been as hot as Vikings DT Linval Joseph over the last two weeks. He has recorded 18 total tackles (12 solo), 1.5 sacks, four tackles for loss and a forced fumble, scoring an impressive 39.1 fantasy points, making him the third-highest scoring defensive player over that two game span. In actuality, Joseph has been on a tear all season, grading +35.5, with only Aaron Donald grading better among fellow defensive tackles. His fantasy output is finally catching up. Like Mario Edwards Jr., Joseph is a terror against the run (22 stops in 40 tackles), which gives him a higher floor than most his peers, and makes him worth considering as a DL2/3. He’s a top-five defensive tackle.
