The weekly offensive snap report is a summary of the participation data for each team's running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends. Although the main focus is snaps, we also cover other important categories like pass routes and designed runs.
All 16 Week 14 Games Now Added
Steelers 14, Browns 3
Heath Miller’s 53 snaps led the Steelers’ offense in Week 14. David Johnson handled 30 and Wes Saunders saw 13. Mike Wallace led the wide receivers with 48 snaps. Antonio Brown was in on 27 plays. With Emmanuel Sanders out, Jerricho Cotchery stepped into 24 snaps and Hines Ward racked up 16. Rashard Mendenhall carried the ball 18 times on 33 snaps. Isaac Redman was in on 11 plays and Mewelde Moore helped out on seven.
Greg Little led the Browns’ offensive attack with 66 snaps played, missing only one on the day. Mohamed Massaquoi saw 58 snaps, while Jordan Norwood handled 33. Josh Cribbs managed only 10 before suffering a groin injury. Carlton Mitchell helped out on four plays. Alex Smith led the tight ends with 41 snaps, thanks, mainly, to an injury that held Ben Watson to 25 snaps. Evan Moore played 25 snaps. Chris Ogbonnaya led the backs with 25 snaps, just ahead of Peyton Hillis’ 24. Montario Hardesty filled out the committee with 20 snaps of his own.
Texans 20, Bengals 19
Owen Daniels led the Texans’ offensive attack with 71 snaps in Week 14. Joel Dreessen was in on 36 plays and James Casey saw 10. Jacoby Jones’ 65 snaps led the wide receivers with Andre Johnson out. Kevin Walter was in on 61 plays and Derrick Mason added 26 before being waived on Monday. Bryant Johnson played 12 snaps. Arian Foster’s 57 snaps led the backs. Ben Tate was involved on 20 plays in relief.
Jermaine Gresham played all 58 snaps to lead the Bengals’ offense in Week 14. Colin Cochart helped out with 21 snaps. AJ Green’s 57 snaps led the wideouts. Jerome Simpson added 44 and Andre Caldwell worked 23. Andrew Hawkins’ chipped in with six snaps. Cedric Benson paced the backs with 40 snaps, while Bernard Scott handled 12 in relief. Brian Leonard was out.
Broncos 13, Bears 10
Eric Decker’s 76 snaps led the Denver offense in Week 14. Demaryius Thomas saw 13 targets on his 74 snaps. Matt Willis was in on 56 plays and Quan Cosby added four. Daniel Fells’ 68 snaps paced the tight ends. Dante Rosario was involved on 13 plays and Virgil Green chipped in on five. Lance Ball’s 38 snaps led the backs. Willis McGahee worked 28 and Jeremiah Johnson 16.
Johnny Knox led the Bears’ wideouts with 53 snaps played. Roy Williams worked 51, while Earl Bennett saw 33. Devin Hester played only 10 and Sam Hurd added nine. Kellen Davis’ 48 snaps led the tight ends. Matt Spaeth helped out on 23 plays. Marion Barber saw a look on an incredible 31 of his 42 snaps. Kahlil Bell played 19 snaps.
Cardinals 21, 49ers 19
Larry Fitzgerald was in on 51 of the Cardinals’ offensive snaps on Sunday, which paced the team. Andre Roberts handled 47 plays, while Early Doucet saw 32. DeMarco Sampson was in on two plays. Beanie Wells’ 36 snaps paced the running backs. LaRod Stephens-Howling was involved on nine plays and Chester Taylor managed seven. Todd Heap and Jeff King each handled 28 snaps at the tight end position. Rob Housler helped out on six plays.
Vernon Davis led the 49ers’ offense by playing all 63 Week 14 snaps. Delanie Walker was in on 31 plays and Justin Peelle provided a block on four. Michael Crabtree led the wideouts with 50 snaps. Ted Ginn handled 37, just ahead of Kyle Williams’ 30 snaps. Braylon Edwards saw action on only 11 plays. Frank Gore’s 37 snaps led the tailbacks, but Kendall Hunter saw one more look (11 to 10) on 11 fewer snaps.
Eagles 26, Dolphins 10
LeSean McCoy’s 60 snaps paced the Eagles’ offense in Week 14. Ronnie Brown was in on six plays and Dion Lewis did not play. Brent Celek’s 59 snaps led the tight ends. Clay Harbor saw action on 29 plays. DeSean Jackson’s 49 snaps were enough to lead the wide receivers. Jeremy Maclin managed only 26 before leaving with a tight hamstring. Riley Cooper filled in with 31 snaps and Jason Avant worked 46. Steve Smith did not play and went on IR after the game, allowing one snap for Chad Hall.
Anthony Fasano was in on every one of the 64 offensive plays the Dolphins ran in Week 14. Charles Clay worked 18 snaps and Jeron Mastrud helped out on seven. Reggie Bush’s 52 snaps easily led the backs. Daniel Thomas spelled him 12 times and Lex Hilliard saw nine snaps. Brandon Marshall led the wide receivers with 61 snaps played. Brian Hartline handled 47 snaps and Davone Bess was in on 44 plays. Clyde Gates racked up only three snaps.
Jets 37, Chiefs 10
Santonio Holmes did not leave the field on Sunday, racking up 56 snaps. Plaxico Burress handled 45 plays and Jeremy Kerley was in on 22. Patrick Turner worked only nine this week. Matthew Mulligan led the tight ends with 42 snaps in the blowout win. He finished just ahead of Dustin Keller, who worked 41 plays. Josh Baker managed five snaps. Shonn Greene’s 33 snaps paced the backs. LaDainian Tomlinson was in on 27 plays and Bilal Powell saw six in place of an injured Joe McKnight.
Interestingly, the top four snap-getters (is that a word?) among the Chiefs’ offensive skill position players were wide receivers this week. In fact, if you include utilityman Dexter McCluster and his 28 snaps, it’s the Top 5. Steve Breaston led the show with 47 snaps, but Dwayne Bowe was just behind at 46. Jon Baldwin worked 39 plays and Jerheme Urban handled 33. Terrance Cooper, meanwhile, was in on 12 plays. Jackie Battle led the Chiefs’ traditional running backs with 22 snaps, well ahead of Thomas Jones’ nine. Anthony Becht’s 20 snaps paced the tight ends. Leonard Pope managed on five.
Lions 34, Vikings 28
Brandon Pettigrew’s 53 snaps were enough to lead the Lions’ offense in Week 14. Will Heller (13 snaps) and Tony Scheffler (nine) helped out at the tight end position. Nate Burleson and Calvin Johnson each worked 52 snaps to lead the wideouts. Titus Young manned 33 snaps, while Rashied Davis (five snaps), Stefan Logan (four), and Maurice Stovall (three) picked up the rest. Maurice Morris racked up 26 snaps with Kevin Smith out to lead the backs. Keiland Williams managed 22 plays and recent-signing Aaron Brown worked three.
A week after racking up a ridiculous 77 snaps, Devin Aromashodu dominated the Vikings’ offensive snaps again this week with 80 snaps. Greg Camarillo was in on 59 plays and Percy Harvin saw 19 looks on his 57 snaps. Stephen Burton worked only four plays before suffering a season-ending injury. Visanthe Shiancoe’s 64 snaps led the tight ends. Kyle Rudolph managed 49 and Jim Kleinsasser saw 10. Toby Gerhart was a workhorse, managing 66 snaps with Adrian Peterson out. Lorenzo Booker worked only seven plays in relief.
Packers 46, Raiders 16
Jermichael Finley saw only one target, but his 40 snaps led the offensive attack in Week 14. DJ Williams worked 17 snaps with Andrew Quarless out, which is more intriguing that it seems on the surface. If Green Bay rests some starters in the later weeks of the season, it’s likely they’ll want to get a look at rookie receiving TE prospect Williams. Those relying on Finley might want to stash him. Tom Crabtree was in on 14 plays and Ryan Taylor scored his first NFL touchdown on one of his 13 snaps. James Jones led the wideouts with 33 snaps. Before suffering an injury that will cost him the rest of the regular season, Greg Jennings worked 30 snaps. Donald Driver and Jordy Nelson were each in on 29 plays, while rookie Randall Cobb enjoyed a career-high 26 snaps. Ryan Grant handled 34 snaps with James Starks out. John Kuhn helped out at tailback with 28 snaps and Brandon Saine worked seven.
Michael Bush handled 60 Week 14 snaps to lead the Raiders’ offense. Marcel Reece chipped in with 22 snaps and Rock Cartwright managed nine. Kevin Boss’ 57 snaps paced the tight ends. Brandon Myers saw 16 and David Ausberry racked up 11. Louis Murphy’s 50 snaps led the wide receivers. Darrius Heyward-Bey saw 11 targets on 49 snaps. TJ Houshmandzadeh worked 34 plays and Chaz Schilens managed 30.
Falcons 31, Panthers 23
Roddy White’s 66 snaps paced the Falcons’ offense this week. Julio Jones seems to be back to full health, racking up 63 plays. Harry Douglas was in on 43 snaps and Eric Weems saw seven. Tony Gonzalez’s 58 snaps led the tight ends. Mike Palmer worked 15 plays and Reggie Kelly saw eight. It was a 35-snap affair for Michael Turner. Jacquizz Rodgers handled 14 plays and Jason Snelling chipped in on 23.
Brandon LaFell’s 61 snaps paced the Panthers’ offense this week. Steve Smith worked 58 plays and Legedu Naanee saw action on 36. Seyi Ajirotutu and Armanti Edwards each managed two snaps. Greg Olsen’s 60 snaps led the tight ends. Jeremy Shockey was in on 32 plays and Ben Hartsock handled just one. Jonathan Stewart led the backs with 39 snaps. DeAngelo Williams was in on 24 plays.
Ravens 24, Colts 10
Anquan Boldin worked 62 snaps in Week 14 to pace the Ravens’ offense. Torrey Smith continues to hold down the No. 2 job with 56 snaps this week. Lee Evans worked 23 plays, while LaQuan Williams did not play. Ed Dickson’s 57 snaps led the tight ends, as usual. Dennis Pitta was in on 31 plays. Ray Rice handled 53 snaps to lead the backs. Ricky Williams helped out on 14 plays.
Reggie Wayne managed all 57 snaps this week to lead the Colts’ offensive attack. Pierre Garcon was in on 56 plays and Austin Collie saw 42 – his second highest total of the year. Calling the running back situation a committee would be an understatement. Donald Brown worked 22 snaps, Delone Carter handled 19, and Joe Addai saw 16. Dallas Clark was back and saw 31 snaps. Brody Eldridge managed 14, while Jacob Tamme saw 12. Anthony Hill was in on five plays.
Patriots 34, Redskins 27
Rob Gronkowski handled all 58 snaps for the Patriots’ offense this week. Aaron Hernandez was in on 54 plays. Wes Welker’s 57 snaps paced the wideouts. Deion Branch worked 44 plays, but failed to catch a pass. Tiquan Underwood handled 11 snaps, compared to just four for Chad Ochocinco. Danny Woodhead’s 34 snaps led the backs. Kevin Faulk was in on 13 plays and BenJarvus Green-Ellis worked nine.
Jabar Gaffney paced the Redskins’ offense with 56 snaps in Week 14. Santana Moss worked 55 plays and Donte’ Stallworth was in on 34. Niles Paul racked up 18 snaps, while Anthony Armstrong (14 snaps), David Anderson (10), and Brandon Banks (two) picked up the scraps. Roy Helu saw a look on 30 of his 55 snaps this week. Evan Royster managed 14 plays and Ryan Torain was inactive. With Fred Davis done for the year, Logan Paulsen worked 40 snaps, but did not see a single target thanks to only nine pass routes. Dominque Byrd ran four routes on all four of his snaps. Mike Sellers lasted only two snaps before leaving with an injury. To help fill Davis’ snaps, the team used more wide receivers, but FB Darrel Young also worked a season-high 41 snaps.
Saints 22, Titans 17
Marques Colston handled 41 Week 14 snaps, only eight of which were run plays, to lead the Saints’ offense. Devery Henderson was also in on eight plays. Robert Meachem worked 42 snaps and Lance Moore saw 34. Over the Saints’ last five games, Colston has played a WR-leading 173 snaps, but Henderson is just behind with 165 and Meachem is right there at 160. Moore, meanwhile, has seen only 95 snaps, but is second to only Colston in targets in that period. Jimmy Graham wasn’t 100%, but still saw 45 snaps. John Gilmore worked 32. With Mark Ingram out, Chris Ivory carried the ball 13 times on just 16 snaps and also saw a target. Pierre Thomas led the backs with 33 snaps, while Darren Sproles handled 31.
Damian Williams handled 48 of a possible 55 offensive snaps to lead the Titans’ offense in Week 14. Nate Washington racked up nine targets on 41 snaps despite struggling through injuries. Lavelle Hawkins worked 36 plays, 31 of which were passes. Marc Mariani helped out on 12 plays. Chris Johnson’s 51 snaps easily led the backs. Javon Ringer suffered a broken hand and is out for the season after lasting only three plays. Jamie Harper helped out with one snap. Jared Cook rivaled the team-leaders with 29 pass routes, but was asked to block only five times. Craig Stevens worked 25 plays and Daniel Graham saw 10.
Seahawks 30, Rams 13
Zach Miller handled 65 snaps on Monday Night Football to lead the Seattle offensive attack. Cam Morrah worked 26 snaps and Anthony McCoy chipped in on nine. Golden Tate led the wide receivers in snaps again this week, this time with 53. Mike Williams was called upon 30 times, while Doug Baldwin worked 29 snaps. Ben Obomanu (20 snaps) and Deon Butler (17) also saw action. Marshawn Lynch dominated the running back snaps with 44. Justin Forsett was in on 17 plays and Leon Washington handled three.
Leading the Rams’ offense this week was Lance Kendricks, who is back to playing almost every down. He worked 55 snaps this week. Blocker Billy Bajema was in on 46 plays and Stephen Spach handled 18. Steven Jackson’s 50 snaps paced the backs. Cadillac Williams worked 12 plays and Jerious Norwood chipped in on just one. Brandon Lloyd’s 42 snaps led the wide receivers. Austin Pettis was in on 38 plays and Danario Alexander saw 36. Brandon Gibson returned to WR No. 4 duties with only 15 snaps.
Giants 37, Cowboys 34
Jake Ballard paced the Giants’ offense with 77 snaps this weekend. Bear Pascoe worked 23 snaps, while Travis Beckum handled seven prior to an injury. Victor Cruz led the wideouts with 72 snaps played. Hakeem Nicks was in on 69 plays and Mario Manningham worked just 32. Ramses Barden saw only one snap. Ahmad Bradshaw sat out the entire first half due to suspension, but still played 28 snaps in the second half. Brandon Jacobs was in on 28 plays, as well. DJ Ware handled 22.
Jason Witten was in on all 58 of the Cowboys’ offensive snaps this week. John Phillips worked 27 snaps behind him with Martellus Bennett inactive. Miles Austin’s 54 snaps led the wide receivers. Dez Bryant was in on 53 and Laurent Robinson worked 27. Austin has clearly retaken his starting job back. It will be interesting to see if Robinson loses even more snaps when Bennett returns to action this week, as the Cowboys like to run 2-TE sets when he’s available. DeMarco Murray suffered a season-ending injury after only eight snaps, allowing Felix Jones to handle 45 of his own. Fullback Tony Fiammetta saw three looks on 18 snaps, as well.
Jaguars 41, Bucs 14
Maurice Jones-Drew handled 60 snaps in Week 14 to pace the Jaguars’ offense. DuJuan Harris was in on only three plays and Montell Owens worked three. Marcedes Lewis led the tight ends with 53 snaps, well ahead of Zach Potter’s 30 and Colin Cloherty’s eight. Mike Thomas and Cecil Shorts each suffered an injury after a combined 13 snaps. That allowed Kassim Osgood to pace the wide receivers with 51 snaps. Jarett Dillard worked 44 plays and Chastin West handled 34.
Mike Williams worked 51 snaps this week to lead the Bucs’ offensive attack. Dez Briscoe was next up among wide receivers with 40 snaps played. Preston Parker handled 28 and Arrelious Benn was limited to only 13 after suffering a concussion. Micheal Spurlock was working on seven plays. Kellen Winslow led the tight ends with 41 snaps. Luke Stocker was in on 32 plays and Zach Pianalto saw five. LeGarrette Blount’s 30 snaps led the backfield. Kregg Lumpkin handled 20 snaps with Mossis Madu working eight.
Chargers 37, Bills 10
Vincent Jackson led the Chargers’ offense this week with 58 snaps played. Malcom Floyd was in on 45 plays. Patrick Crayton worked ahead of Vincent Brown again this week, seeing 15 snaps (all passes) to Brown’s six. Richard Goodman was in on five plays. Antonio Gates led the tight ends with 53 snaps played. Randy McMichael was involved on 40 plays and Kory Sperry handled 14. Ryan Mathews’ 38 snaps paced the backs. Mike Tolbert was in on 25 plays and Jacob Hester saw three carries on his 28 snaps.
Brad Smith went without a catch in Week 14, but his 53 snaps led the Bills’ offense. Stevie Johnson was in on 52 plays and David Nelson handled 46. Derek Hagan made his Bills’ debut with 24 snaps played. Ruvell Martin chipped in on six plays. CJ Spiller’s 31 snaps led the backs. Tashard Choice handled 22 plays and Johnny White added five. With Scott Chandler out, Mike Caussin worked 26 snaps. Lee Smith completed the committee attach with 23 snaps.
