The weekly offensive snap report is a summary of the participation data for each team's running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends. Although the main focus is snaps, we also cover other important categories like pass routes and designed runs.
All 16 Week 12 Games Now Added
Cowboys 20, Dolphins 19
Jason Witten paced the Dallas offense this week by playing all 58 snaps. John Phillips was in on 30 plays and Martellus Bennett managed 28. Laurent Robinson led the wide receivers for the third week in a row, this time with 50 snaps. Dez Bryant was in on 49 plays. It will be interesting to see how this WR situation unfolds once Miles Austin returns to action in a few weeks. My guess is fewer 2-TE sets in passing/balance situations and more 3-WR sets. We’ll see. Anyways, Kevin Ogletree was in on 17 plays and Jesse Holley handled only a pair. DeMarco Murray’s 44 snaps led the backers. Felix Jones played only 12 snaps.
Brandon Marshall’s 58 snaps led the Miami wide receivers. Brian Hartline was in on 41 plays and Davone Bess managed 32. Clyde Gates saw action on seven plays. Anthony Fasano was in on 57 plays and Jeron Mastrud handled 11. Charles Clay was involved in 31 plays. Reggie Bush easily paced the running backs with 47 snaps, well ahead of Daniel Thomas’ 15 and Lex Hilliard’s four.
Packers 27, Lions 15
Greg Jennings led the Packers’ offensive attack with 39 snaps played this week. Donald Drive was in on 24 plays, slightly ahead of Jordy Nelson’s 21. James Jones and Randall Cobb each saw 20 snaps. Jermichael Finley led the tight ends with 34 snaps. Andrew Quarless was in on 21 plays and Tom Crabtree saw 16. Ryan Grant’s 17 snaps led the backs. James Starks was just behind at 16 and John Kuhn was in on 21 plays. Brandon Saine saw nine snaps late in the game.
Brandon Pettigrew’s 66 snaps led the Lions’ offensive attack. Tony Scheffler was in on 13 plays and Will Heller handled four. Calvin Johnson paced the wide receivers with 65 snaps. Nate Burleson was in on 59 plays and Titus Young saw 54. Rashied Davis (six), Maurice Stovall (three), and Stefan Logan (two) also saw action. An early injury held Kevin Smith to 14 snaps. Maurice Morris saw a look on 17 of his 32 snaps in relief. Keiland Williams managed 17 snaps.
Ravens 16, 49ers 6
Ed Dickson’s 53 snaps paced the Ravens’ offense this week. Dennis Pitta was in on 30 plays, while Kris Wilson managed only one. Anquan Boldin’s 52 snaps were enough to lead the wideouts. Torrey Smith saw the field on 38 plays and Lee Evans was in on 21. Ray Rice’s 46 snaps led the backers. Ricky Williams saw action on 11 plays.
Vernon Davis played all 54 snaps in this one to pace the 49ers’ offense. Delanie Walker was in on 33 snaps and Justin Peelle chipped in on three. Frank Gore’s 40 snaps paced the backfield. Kendall Hunter saw work on only 13 plays. Michael Crabtree led the wide receivers with 39 snaps. Ted Ginn was in on 30 plays, four more than Braylon Edwards. Kyle Williams worked 16 snaps.
Bengals 23, Browns 20
Jermaine Gresham’s 60 snaps led the Bengals’ offense in Week 12. Colin Cochart provided help on 23 plays. AJ Green led the wide receivers with 60 snaps. Jerome Simpson was in on 51 plays and slot man Andre Caldwell worked 36. Andrew Hawkins chipped in on seven plays. Cedric Benson’s 38 snaps led the backs. Brian Leonard (14 snaps) saw a little bit more action than Bernard Scott (11).
Greg Little’s 65 snaps led the Browns’ offense this week. Mohamed Massaquoi racked up 47 snaps and Josh Cribbs was in on 31 plays. Jordan Norwood ran a pass route on 25 of his 26 snaps. Carlton Mitchell played one snap – his first since Week 9. Ben Watson’s 55 snaps led the tight ends. Alex Smith was in on 26 plays and Evan Moore handled only 10. Peyton Hillis was back in action and managed 45 snaps. Chris Ogbonnaya chipped in on 23 plays, 18 of which were pass plays.
Broncos 16, Chargers 13
Daniel Fells paced the Broncos’ offense with 68 snaps in Week 12. Virgil Green was in on 12 plays and Dante Rosario managed three. Eric Decker’s 66 snaps led the wide receivers. Demaryius Thomas (49 snaps) and Matt Willis (40) played quite a bit more than Eddie Royal (20), who seemed to have suffered an injury early on that limited him in the second half. Willis McGahee carried the ball on 23 of his 42 snaps. Lance Ball entered the game for 26 plays and Jeremiah Johnson was in on nine.
Vincent Jackson was in on all 75 offensive snaps for the Chargers in Week 12. Vincent Brown sat out on only four plays and Patrick Crayton was in on 18. Antonio Gates managed 72 snaps and Randy McMichael added 52. Ryan Mathews’ 40 snaps paced the backs. Mike Tolbert was involved on 33 plays and Curtis Brinkley managed just three.
Panthers 27, Colts 19
Steve Smith’s 63 snaps were enough the led the Panthers’ offense in Week 12. Brandon LaFell added 62 of his own with Legedu Naanee (34 snaps) limited. Seyi Ajirotutu and Kealoha Pilares each saw one snap. The tight ends were led by Greg Olsen’s 54 snaps effort. Jeremy Shockey was in on 33 plays and Ben Hartsock saw two. Jonathan Stewart led the backs with 35 snaps. DeAngelo Williams racked up 30.
Reggie Wayne was in the game on all 55 snaps this week. Pierre Garcon skipped only one and Austin Collie ran a pass route on 25 of his 31 snaps. Anthony Gonzalez entered the game only once. Jacob Tamme’s 45 snaps paced the tight ends. Anthony Hill provided a block on 18 of his 19 snaps and Mike McNeill was in on two plays. Donald Brown’s 44 snaps led the backs. Joseph Addai returned to action with just 11 snaps and Delone Carter didn’t play.
Falcons 24, Vikings 14
Tony Gonzalez led the Falcons’ offense with 60 snaps in Week 12. Mike Palmer was in on 11 plays and Reggie Kelly added nine. Roddy White’s 59 snaps led the Falcons’ offense. Julio Jones didn’t see a target despite 55 snaps. Harry Douglas was in on 46 plays. Eric Weems (10 snaps) and Kerry Meier (one) saw limited action. Michael Turner’s 38 snaps led the backfield. Jason Snelling was in on 19 snaps and Jacquizz Rodgers handled 10.
Despite suffering an injury, Michael Jenkins led the Minnesota offense with 46 snaps. Devin Aromashodu was in on 44 plays and Percy Harvin saw 13 looks on 38 snaps. Greg Camarillo worked two snaps. Visanthe Shiancoe’s 43 snaps paced the tight ends. Allen Reisner handled seven snaps with Kyle Rudolph out. Toby Gerhart’s 39 snaps led the backers, as Adrian Peterson was out. Lorenzo Booker helped out with five snaps.
Texans 20, Jaguars 13
Andre Johnson’s 54 snaps led the Texans’ offense. Kevin Walter worked 36 plays and Jacoby Jones was in on 25. Derrick Mason saw the field for only four plays. Owen Daniels’ 52 snaps led the tight ends. Joel Dreessen found the endzone despite only one snap, but did play a respectable 36 snaps. James Casey saw the field for 27 plays. Arian Foster’s 52 snaps easily led the tailbacks. Ben Tate was in on just seven plays.
Marcedes Lewis handled an offense-leading 65 snaps in Week 12. Zach Potter was in on 16 plays. Jarett Dillard’s 52 snaps led the wide receivers. Jason Hill was in on 51 plays and Mike Thomas handled 50. Cecil Shorts was back in action with 21 snaps. Kassim Osgood worked nine snaps and Chastin West was in on one play. Maurice Jones-Drew’s 50 snaps paced the backers. Deji Karim handled 12 snaps and Montell Owens was in on seven.
Jets 28, Bills 24
Santonio Holmes paced the Jets’ offense this week with 57 snaps played. Plaxico Burress was in on 47 plays and Patrick Turner handled 29. Dustin Keller’s 48 snaps led the tight ends. Matthew Mulligan was in on 19 plays. John Conner worked 30 plays. Shonn Greene’s 41 snaps led the backfield. With LaDainian Tomlinson still out, Joe McKnight worked 16 snaps.
After averaging 34 snaps per game over the season’s first 11 weeks, Scott Chandler led the Bills’ offense with 70 snaps played in Week 12. Lee Smith chipped in on 23 plays. Brad Smith, interestingly, led the Bills wide receivers with 69 snaps. He had played 95 on the year entering Week 12. Steve Johnson worked 66 snaps and David Nelson was in on 43 plays. Ruvell Martin chipped in on only five plays. With Fred Jackson done for the year, C.J. Spiller handled 67 snaps to lead the backs. Tashard Choice and Johnny White combined for just three snaps.
Raiders 25, Bears 20
Michael Bush led the Raiders offensive attack with 65 snaps played in Week 12. Marcel Reece handled 48 snaps and Rock Cartwright was in on three. With Denarius Moore and Jacoby Ford out, Chaz Schilens led the wideouts with 61 snaps. Darrius Heyward-Bey led the unit with nine targets and was in on 56 plays. Louis Murphy was third in line with 27 snaps. TJ Houshmandzadeh worked only two snaps. Kevin Boss’ 47 snaps led the tight ends. Brandon Myers was involved in 16 plays, while Richard Gordon and David Ausberry combined for three.
Roy Williams led the Bears’ offense in Week 12 with 61 snaps played. Johnny Knox was next at 53 and was targeted a WR-leading nine times. Earl Bennett worked 44 snaps. Sam Hurd handled 16 plays and Dane Sanzenbacher saw five. Matt Forte saw a look on 22 of his 52 snaps. Marion Barber worked 15 plays. Kellen Davis scored on one of his 45 snaps. Matt Spaeth chipped in on 24 plays.
Cardinals 23, Rams 20
Larry Fitzgerald’s 63 snaps were enough to lead the Cardinals’ offense in Week 12. Andre Roberts worked 53 plays and Early Doucet was in on 25. DaMarco Sampson helped out with seven snaps. Jeff King led the tight ends with 43 snaps, despite the return of Todd Heap, who handled 30 of his own. Beanie Wells led the running backs with 37 snaps, carrying the ball on 27 of those plays. Chester Taylor offered relief on 14 snaps. Alfonso Smith and LaRod Stephens-Howling each worked six snaps.
Brandon Lloyd worked 54 of a possible 56 snaps in Week 12 to lead the Rams’ offense. Brandon Gibson was in on 51 plays with Danario Alexander still out. Austin Pettis worked 36 snaps. Lance Kendricks led the tight ends with 49 snaps played. Billy Bajema was in on 19 plays and Stephen Spach worked 13. Steven Jackson’s 47 snaps easily paced the backers. Jerious Norwood managed nine plays.
Redskins 23, Seahawks 17
Fred Davis’ 62 snaps led the Redskins’ offense in Week 12. Logan Paulsen was involved on 29 plays and Mike Sellers handled 13. Roy Helu’s 60 snaps easily paced the backers. Evan Royster worked ahead of Ryan Torain as the No. 2 tailback, but played only five snaps. Torain didn’t play. Jabar Gaffney’s 52 snaps paced the wideouts. Santana Moss was back in action, playing 50 snaps. Donte’ Stallworth worked 29 plays and Terrence Austin handled one. Anthony Armstrong caught a 50 yard touchdown on one of his three snaps.
Zach Miller’s 61 snaps led the Seattle offensive attack. Anthony McCoy worked on 28 plays and Cam Morrah added two. Golden Tate’s 36 snaps led the wide receivers. Ben Obomanu worked 32 plays, while Sidney Rice and Doug Baldwin each played 26. Mike Williams was in on 20 plays. Marshawn Lynch’s 34 snaps led the backers. Mike Robinson was in on 21 snaps, while Justin Forsett handled 17 and Leon Washington worked seven.
Steelers 13, Chiefs 9
Heath Miller led the Steelers’ offense in Week 12 with 59 snaps played. Weslye Saunders scored the game’s only touchdown on one of his 15 snaps. David Johnson was involved in 21 plays. Mike Wallace led the wide receivers with 56 snaps. Antonio Brown was in on 40 plays and Emmanuel Sanders saw 27. Hines Ward managed 15 plays and Jerricho Cotchery was in on six. Rashard Mendenhall’s 29 snaps led the tailbacks. Mewelde Moore received 17 snaps and Isaac Redman chipped in on 14.
The Chiefs’ offense was led by Steve Breaston’s 61 snaps (out of a possible 62) in Week 12. Dwayne Bowe was just behind at 59 snaps played. Jon Baldwin followed with 31, while Terrance Copper and Jerheme Urban split 12 snaps right down the middle. Anthony Becht had played only five snaps since Week 3 entering this game, but led the tight ends with 49 snaps. Leonard Pope was in on just eight plays. The backs were led by Le’Ron McClain and Dexter McCluster, who each handled 23 snaps. Thomas Jones ousted Jackie Battle in snaps for the second week in a row, this time by a 20-to-19 margin.
Patriots 38, Eagles 20
Rob Gronkowski paced the Patriots’ offense in Week 12 by handling 66 of a possible 67 snaps. Aaron Hernandez was next up among offensive skill position players with 63. Wes Welker led the wide receivers with 61 snaps. Deion Branch followed with 53. Julian Edelman handled 22 with Chad Ochocinco out. Tiquan Underwood also helped replace Ochocinco [and the apparently incapacitated Taylor Price] with 18 snaps of his own. Matt Slater was in on three plays. BenJarvus Green-Ellis led a crowded backfield with 22 snaps. Shane Vereen was in on 12 plays and Steven Ridley managed nine. Danny Woodhead saw the field for only nine plays.
Riley Cooper led the Eagles’ offense in snaps for the second week in a row, this week with 64 of a possible 67. Jason Avant was in on 46 plays. A second-half benching limited DeSean Jackson to 44 snaps. Chad Hall filled in for him with 25, while Steve Smith saw only five. Brent Celek’s 59 snaps paced the tight ends. Clay Harbor managed 19. LeSean McCoy led the backs with 63 snaps. Ronnie Brown subbed in on just four plays.
Saints 49, Giants 24
Jimmy Graham’s 53 snaps were enough to lead the Saints’ offense over the Giants in Week 12. John Gilmore was in on 22 plays. Robert Meachem paced the wide receivers with 45 snaps, while Devery Henderson and Marques Colston each added 43. Lance Moore was in on only 22 snaps, but did lead the wideouts with seven targets and scored twice. As was the case previously, the Saints prefer Moore and Colston in passing situations, but turn to Henderson/Meachem when putting the game away with a run-first offense. Moore likely plays 35+ snaps if the game is closer. Darren Sproles carried the backfield with 26 snaps. Pierre Thomas (24 snaps) and Mark Ingram (23) were just behind. The three backs have played 340, 265, and 189 snaps on the year, respectively.
Jake Ballard led the Giants’ offense with 68 Week 12 snaps. Bear Pascoe was in on 15 plays and Travis Beckum handled two. Victor Cruz led the wide receivers with 67 snaps thanks, in part, to Mario Manningham’s injury and inactive status. Hakeem Nicks managed 63 snaps after missing a few snaps with an injury. Ramses Barden helped out with 40 snaps and Devin Thomas saw five. Danny Ware’s 41 snaps led the backs, but 36 were pass plays. Brandon Jacobs carried the ball 13 times on 25 snaps. Da’Rel Scott chipped in on four plays.
Titans 23, Bucs 17
Damian Williams’ 61 snaps were enough to lead the Titans’ offense in Week 12. Nate Washington was in on 60 plays. Lavelle Hawkins added 34 and Marc Mariani managed 10. Craig Stevens’ 43 snaps paced the tight ends. Jared Cook was in on 37 plays, 28 of which were pass routes. Daniel Graham racked up 19 snaps. Chris Johnson carried the ball on 23 of his 39 snaps. Javon Ringer ran a pass route on 16 of his 33 snaps.
Mike Williams handled 59 snaps to lead the Bucs’ offense in Week 12. Arrelious Benn was involved in 54 plays, while Preston Parker added 26. Dez Briscoe has seen his snaps decline from 47 to 27 to 17 to 17 to 7 over the team’s last five games. Seven is a season-low for him. Sam Stroughter was on the field for only three plays. Kellen Winslow’s 47 snaps led the tight ends. Luke Stocker saw 27 plays and Zach Pianalto added two. LeGarrette Blount led the backs with 35 snaps. Kregg Lumpkin was in on 25 plays, 21 of which were passes.
