Fantasy: The Snap Report – Week 10 Offense

The weekly offensive snap report is a summary of the participation data for each team's running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends. Although the main focus is snaps, we also cover other important categories like pass routes and designed runs.

All 16 Week 10 Games Now Added

Raiders 24, Chargers 17

With Darren McFadden still out of action, Michael Bush stepped into 50 snaps in Week 10. Taiwan Jones was second in line at tailback, but handled only 12 snaps. Jacoby Ford saw only eight snaps before going down with an injury. Up stepped Darrius Heyward-Bey (56 snaps) and Denarius Moore (44). Louis Murphy and TJ Houshmandzadeh were each in on 16 plays and Chaz Schilens handled nine. Kevin Boss paced the tight ends with 40 snaps, but ran only 10 pass routes. Brandon Myers was in on 24 plays. Manase Tonga and Marcel Reece split fullback duties with 10 snaps a piece.

Antonio Gates hasn’t been as productive as usual, but it’s certainly not a product of a lack of playing time. He was in on 66 of a possible 68 Week 10 snaps. Randy McMichael handled 25 snaps. Vincent Jackson led the wide receivers with 60 snaps, but Vincent Brown, filling in for Malcom Floyd, was just behind with 59. Patrick Crayton handled slot duties with 38 snaps and Richard Goodman was in on six plays. With San Diego trailing, Mike Tolbert was on the field for 49 snaps, compared to just 19 for Ryan Mathews. Mathews still holds a 296 to 281 edge in snaps on Tolbert this season.

Rams 13, Browns 12

Steven Jackson was in on 57 of a possible 59 Week 10 snaps, which is an extremely high percentage for a tailback. Cadillac Williams was injured in warmups and didn’t play. Mike Hoomanawanui racked up 41 snaps before suffering what appears to be a season-ending injury. This could be costly for the Rams considering that he had been leading the team’s offensive skill position players in snaps this season. Lance Kendricks was also out, leaving 45 snaps to Billy Bajema and 13 to Stephen Spach. Brandon Gibson paced the wide receivers with 50 snaps, easily beating out Brandon Lloyd’s 41. Austin Pettis racked up only 20 snaps and Mark Clayton was in on 10 plays in his 2011 debut.

Greg Little’s 57 snaps were enough to lead the team’s wideouts in snaps for the ninth time in as many tries this season. Mohamed Massaquoi is still out, which allowed 50 snaps for Josh Cribbs. Jordan Norwood handled 30 snaps, while taking care of slot duties. Seneca Wallace ran three pass routes on his first three snaps of the year. Ben Watson led the tight ends with 50 snaps. Alex Smith was in on 14 plays, which Jordan Cameron and Evan Moore picked up the scraps with six and five snaps, respectively. Five snaps is a season low for Moore. Peyton Hillis and Montario Hardesty are still out, which meant 50 snaps for Chris Ogbonnaya. Thomas Clayton helped out with six of his own.

Saints 26, Falcons 23

Jimmy Graham paced the Saints offense in Week 10 with 41 snaps, 33 of which were pass plays. John Gilmore (21 snaps) played over Dave Thomas (18). Robert Meachem led the wide receivers in snaps for the second week in a row, this time with 39. Marques Colston was next up with 38 and Devery Henderson racked up 31. Lance Moore’s snaps continue to tail off, this week reaching a season-low of 20. The backers were led by Pierre Thomas and his 28 snaps. Darren Sproles managed 20 snaps and Mark Ingram was in on 14 plays.

Roddy White led the Falcons’ offense with 81 snaps this week. Next up at wide receiver was Harry Douglas, but he was way behind at 55 snaps. Julio Jones was limited with an injury, but still saw 29 snaps. Eric Weems chipped in with 35 of his own. Tony Gonzalez matched White with 81 snaps at the tight end position. Michael Palmer and Reggie Kelly each played 11 snaps. Michael Turner led the backs with 41 snaps, just ahead of Jacquizz Rodgers’ 36 snaps. Jason Snelling was in on 22 plays and Mike Cox handled 23 snaps.

49ers 27, Giants 20

Vernon Davis handled 52 Week 10 snaps to lead the Niners offense. Delanie Walker led the offense with six targets, which came on 33 snaps. Justin Peelle saw only five snaps. Michael Crabtree led the wide receivers with 43 snaps, well ahead of Braylon Edwards’ 32. Ted Ginn was in on 18 plays and Kyle Williams saw nine. Frank Gore was lost for the game after only 22 snaps, leaving 26 for Kendall Hunter and five for Anthony Dixon.

Hakeem Nicks led the Giants offensive attack with 70 snaps played. Mario Manningham was in on 60 plays and Victor Cruz saw 41. Manningham holds a 426-to-319 edge over Cruz in snaps this season. Michael Clayton was in on only four plays, while Devin Thomas handled two. Ramses Barden saw only one snap. Jake Ballard handled another 67 snaps this week and is up to 461 on the year. Bear Pascoe was in on 30 snaps with Henry Hynoski still not playing. Travis Beckum was in on two plays. Ahmad Bradshaw was still out, allowing Brandon Jacobs to accrue 26 snaps. He actually trailed DJ Ware, who handled 40 snaps. Da’Rel Scott was in on three plays.

Steelers 24, Bengals 17

Prior to his Week 7 injury, Hines Ward had played 45+ snaps in each of the Steelers first seven games. Apparently back to full health this week, it seems he’s no longer a major factor in the offense. Even with Emmanuel Sanders out of action, Ward played only 10 snaps, well behind the 34 Jerricho Cotchery saw. Mike Wallace was in on 60 plays and Antonio Brown handled 46. Heath Miller’s 67 snaps paced the tight ends. David Johnson saw 33 snaps and Weslye Saunders was in on 15 plays. Rashard Mendenhall led the backers with 39 snaps. Mewelde Moore and Isaac Redman split 32 snaps right down the middle.

Jerome Simpson led the Bengals wideouts with 50 snaps in this one. Andre Caldwell was next up with 39. A.J. Green suffered an injury, but still racked up 28 snaps. Andrew Hawkins (13 snaps) and Brandon Tate (seven) helped out when Green was out. Jermaine Gresham was back in action to the tune of 45 snaps. Colin Cochart was in on 24 plays. The backfield was led by Cedric Benson’s 27 snaps. Bernard Scott saw action on 13 plays, while Brian Leonard managed only two snaps.

Texans 37, Bucs 9

Joel Dreessen paced the offense with 48 snaps in this one and is up to 434 on the year. He’s more involved than a lot of No. 1 tight ends. Speaking of No. 1 tight ends, Owen Daniels was in on 35 plays this week. James Casey saw 15 snaps. The wideouts were led by Jacoby Jones’ 47 snaps and Kevin Walter’s 44. Andre Johnson is still out. Bryant Johnson (15 snaps) played over Derrick Mason (nine) for the second week in a row. Arian Foster managed 30 snaps in this blowout, allowing 17 for Ben Tate and 13 for Derrick Ward.

Mike Williams paced the Bucs offense with 54 snaps played. Arrelious Benn was in on 39 plays and Preston Parker handled 33, mostly from the slot. Dez Briscoe was in on only 18 plays – his second lowest total this season. Sam Stroughter saw his first action since Week 1, playing three snaps. Kellen Winslow managed 48 snaps, while Luke Stocker was in on 19 plays. Zach Pianalto saw four snaps. The backs were led by Kregg Lumpkin’s 33 snaps, but LeGarrette Blount wasn’t far behind at 25.

Cardinals 21, Eagles 17

Larry Fitzgerald’s 71 snaps were enough to lead the Cardinals’ offense in Week 10’s win. Andre Roberts handled 62 snaps and Early Doucet was in on 36 plays. Roberts is close to doubling Roberts in snaps on the season (503 to 279). Chansi Stuckey was in on 14 snaps. Beanie Wells led the backs with 51 snaps. Chester Taylor was in on 10 plays and LaRod Stephens-Howling saw four. Alfonso Smith was in on only two plays. Rob Housler and Todd Heap were both out, leaving 47 snaps for Jim Dray and 42 for Jeff King.

With DeSean Jackson out and Jeremy Maclin limited to 40 snaps with an injury, Steve Smith led the Eagles offense with 55 snaps. Jason Avant added 48 snaps and Riley Cooper was in on 20. Brent Celek handled 53 snaps in this one. Clay Harbor, meanwhile, was in on 17 plays. LeSean McCoy’s 55 snaps led the backers. Ronnie Brown was in on five plays and Dion Lewis racked up two.

Bears 37, Lions 13

Kellen Davis led the Bears’ offense with 48 snaps played this week. Matt Spaeth was in on 32 plays. Johnny Knox led the wideouts in snaps with 41 despite seeing just two targets. Roy Williams handled 37 snaps and Earl Bennett, the only Bears wide receiver to see more than two targets (six), was in on 32 plays. Sam Hurd saw 13 snaps and Dane Sanzenbacher was in on six plays. Devin Hester was active, but didn’t play on offense due to injury. Matt Forte’s 43 snaps led the backers. Marion Barber was in on 16 plays.

Brandon Pettigrew handled 83 snaps to lead the Lions offensive attack. Tony Scheffler was in on 23 plays and Will Heller saw 13. Nate Burleson paced the wide receivers with a 78-snap day. Calvin Johnson was in on 76 plays and Titus Young handled 59. Maurice Stovall, Rashied Davis, and Stefan Logan combined to play just 11 snaps. The backs were led by a 43-snap day from Maurice Morris. Kevin Smith handled 28 snaps in his return to Detroit, 24 of which were pass plays. Keiland Williams played only six snaps.

Broncos 17, Chiefs 10

Daniel Fells led the offense in this one, racking up 58 snaps. Virgil Green was in on 17 plays and Dante Rosario handled 16. Eric Decker led the wideouts in snaps with 55 and Eddie Royal was in on 45. Demaryius Thomas played only 17 snaps in the Broncos run-heavy attack. Matt Willis was in on five plays. Willis McGahee and Knowshon Moreno combined for only 10 snaps before leaving the game with injuries. That allowed 51 snaps for Lance Ball, who carried the ball 30 times. Fullback Spencer Larsen saw five carries on his 18 snaps.

Dwayne Bowe’s 60 snaps were enough to pace the Chiefs’ offense in Week 10. We could have a changing of the guard at the No. 2 WR spot, however, as Jon Baldwin managed 55 snaps, compared to 46 for Steve Breaston. Dexter McCluster worked 39 snaps, eight as a rusher, 21 as a pass-catcher, and 10 as a blocker. Jackie Battle managed just 19 snaps, while Le’Ron McClain added 13 and Thomas Jones handled seven. The tight end rotation continues, as Leonard Pope was back on top this week with 51 snaps played. Jake O’Connell was in on 19 plays.

Cowboys 44, Bills 7

Jason Witten was in on 58 plays in Week 10 to pace the Dallas offense. Martellus Bennett handled 19 snaps and John Phillips saw 11. Miles Austin was out, allowing Laurent Robinson to lead the wideouts with 52 snaps. Dez Bryant was in on 46 plays. Kevin Ogletree handled 21 snaps as the No. 3 wideout. Jesse Holley was in three plays. The backfield was led by DeMarco Murray’s 43 snaps. Phillip Tanner added 15.

Counting only backs, wideouts, and tight ends, the Bills used eight different bodies in this game. One was Fred Jackson, who led the backers with 49 snaps. Donald Jones was also in on 49 plays, which paced the wide receivers. David Nelson was in on 46 plays and Steve Johnson handled 42. Naaman Roosevelt added 19 of his own and Ruvell Martin saw just one. CJ Spiller blocked on six of his 10 snaps. Scott Chandler played 29 snaps from the tight end position.

Patriots 37, Jets 16

The Patriots’ offense was led by a 64-snap effort from Rob Gronkowski. Aaron Hernandez was in on 55 plays. Deion Branch led the wideouts with 61 snaps, which was quite a bit ahead of Wes Welker’s 50. Chad Ochocinco managed 16 snaps, but barely played in the second half. Julian Edelman was in on 13 plays. The backfield was led by Danny Woodhead’s 31 snaps, 22 of which were pass plays. He seems to have an edge on Kevin Faulk (nine snaps) for the passing down job. BenJarvus Green-Ellis ran the ball on eight of his 17 snaps. Steven Ridley carried it on five of his eight snaps.

Santonio Holmes led the Jets’ wide receiver unit with 66 snaps, just ahead of Plaxico Burress’ 63. Holmes has played 513 snaps to Burress’ 447 this season. Jeremy Kerley was in on 39 plays and Patrick Turner handled nine. Dustin Keller’s 59 snaps paced the tight ends. Matt Mulligan was in on 18 plays. Shonn Greene and LaDainian Tomlinson were each on the field for 35 plays in this game. LT ran seven more pass routes and Greene had six additional carries.

Packers 45, Vikings 7

Jermichael Finley led the Packers’ offense with a 50-snap effort in Week 10. The Packers sat a few starters in the later stages, but Finley was one player consistently on the field. Andrew Quarless was out there for 25 plays. Tom Crabtree saw 15. Greg Jennings was one of those players who didn’t play much late, but he still managed 45 of a possible 66 snaps. Jordy Nelson followed with 39 snaps. Donald Driver was in on 29 snaps, while James Jones handled 23 and Randall Cobb managed 22. James Starks paced the backs with 32 snaps in this one. Ryan Grant added 23 and Brandon Saine made his NFL debut with three. John Kuhn scored on one of his 24 snaps.

Michael Jenkins (55 snaps) and Devin Aromashodu (49) dominated the wide receiver snaps for Minnesota in Week 10. Percy Harvin, as usual, was third in line, this time racking up only 30 snaps. Harvin ran only 19 pass routes, compared to 35 for Jenkins and 32 for Aromashodu. Greg Camarillo handled 22 snaps and Joe Webb saw three. Visanthe Shiancoe’s 38 snaps led the tight ends. Kyle Rudolph was in on 22 plays. The backs were led, as always, by Adrian Peterson and his 38 snaps. Lorenzo Booker played quite a bit late in the game and racked up 10 snaps. Daniel Thomas led the backs with 42 snaps, while Reggie Bush handled 26.

Fred Davis led the Redskins offense by handling all 52 snaps. Logan Paulsen made it a 2-TE set 15 times. Jabar Gaffney’s 49 snaps led the wideouts. Roy Helu’s 30 snaps led the backs, but 24 were pass plays. Ryan Torain added 22 snaps, most of which came early on.

Jaguars 17, Colts 3

The Jaguars’ offense was led by Marcedes Lewis’ 60 snaps. Zach Potter was in on 18 plays. Mike Thomas led the wide receivers with 40 snaps, just ahead of Jarett Dillard’s 37 and Jason Hill’s 36. Chastin West chipped in with 23 snaps and Kassim Osgood saw six plays. Maurice Jones-Drew paced the backs with 44 snaps and Deji Karim was in on 20 plays.

With Dallas Clark out of action for a few weeks, Jacob Tamme has taken over as the top tight end. He led the offense with 57 snaps and eight targets in Week 10. Anthony Hill helped out with five snaps. Pierre Garcon and Reggie Wayne were each in the game for 56 plays. Austin Collie handled 38 and Anthony Gonzalez saw none.
