Earlier this week, I broke down the seven offseason moves that will pay the most dividends in fantasy. Now, it’s time to take a look at some of the worst offseason moves for fantasy purposes. Here are five players, teams and/or situations that stand out among the field, for all the wrong reasons.
5) Browns pass up the No. 2 pick in favor of Robert Griffin III
Curiously, the Cleveland Browns declined yet another opportunity to solve their much-maligned quarterback woes with the No. 2 pick in the draft, instead hitching their wagon to reclamation project Robert Griffin III. Griffin’s career veered horridly off track in the nation’s capital, as his PFF QB rating went from third-best among qualified passers in 2012, to 19th in 2013, and then all the way down to 26th before his injury in 2014. He wound up a healthy scratch for all of 2015.
