Two wideouts who have been rising up the fantasy points per snap rankings are San Francisco’s Michael Crabtree and Jacksonville’s Cecil Shorts. Entering Week 10, Crabtree and Shorts had risen into an eighth-place tie with Julio Jones at 0.32 fantasy points per snap (PPR scoring). They’re the only surprises on the leaderboard, which is headed by Randall Cobb (0.42) and Percy Harvin (0.41) and features big names like Brandon Marshall and A.J. Green.
Laurent Robinson’s return from a concussion muddied Shorts’ outlook for the rest of the season. Shorts had four targets in Week 9, when Robinson returned, after getting 20 in the previous two games. Shorts played Thursday night vs. Indy in the Week 10 opener. For Crabtree, however, all signs point to a monster finish. He ranks only 30th in PPR scoring even after breaking out in his last game. He caught all five of his targets for 72 yards and two touchdowns. It would not surprise me if Crabtree finished as a Top-20 wideout.
