Every year there are a couple of players who emerge as major contributors and help carry fantasy teams through their playoff runs. Last season, during weeks 14-16, Knowshon Moreno averaged 104 yards rushing and 35 yards receiving, while scoring 2 touchdowns over that span. In 2011, Felix Jones averaged over 100 yards rushing and 27 yards receiving in weeks 14 and 15.
Players like that happen every year. They’ll look mediocre for most of the season or won’t get the chance to start and then all of a sudden will burst onto the scene with no prior warning. Finding these guys can be critical to a team’s success in the playoffs, especially if injury strikes. This week, we’ll take a look at a few players who may have been mediocre so far and may or may not provide a boost over the next 3 weeks.
