Welcome to the Week 13 edition of PPO Potpourri, where we look at the previous week’s fantasy points per opportunity (PPO) data to find the players that made the most of their opportunities and go over how you can use that data to win in Week 13.

This article will list the top 10 players in terms of last week’s PPO from the wide receiver, running back and tight end positions. It’ll also dig a little deeper to find some players worth knowing that weren’t in the top 10. We’ll also take a look at some season-to-date PPO data to find the players that have been performing at a high level on a consistent basis.

An opportunity is defined as Carries+Routes Run, so PPO is Fantasy Points/(Carries+Routes). In order to qualify for the top 10, a player must have been in the game on at least 25 percent of the number of snaps the snap count leader at their respective position took each week. For example, if we were both wide receivers and you took 100 snaps and I took 24, I would not qualify for the list. This data is for standard leagues.

Wide Receivers

Week 12 PPO Leaders – WR
Player PPO Player PPO
Doug Baldwin 1.07 Jeremy Maclin 0.65
Seth Roberts 0.82 Calvin Johnson 0.64
A.J. Green 0.69 Brandon Marshall 0.64
Ryan Grant 0.67 Andre Caldwell 0.58
Sammy Watkins 0.65 Markus Wheaton 0.54

Takeaways from the Week 12 leaders:

A.J. Green (0.69) continues to have a solid season. While it seems like he has been hot-and-cold all year long, the reality is that he’s been more “hot-and-solid” — if that’s a thing. He has gone for over 50 yards in all but two games this season, and while it would be nice if his touchdowns were dispersed a little more evenly (he has four games with at least one touchdown compared to seven games without a score), it’s hard to complain about a player who is always good for 50-plus yards and who had a ceiling of 200-plus yards and multiple scores. Green remains a tail-end WR1.
