As always, make sure you’ve checked out Jeff Ratcliffe’s latest pieces if you want to stay on top of your IDP game. The work on tackles per opportunity (tPOP) helps identify the most favorable stat crews when it comes to awarding tackles, while the IDP Matchup Chart lets us key in on some of the best matchups on a positional basis. There is a reason PFF Fantasy is the home to the most accurate IDP rankers for the last four seasons according to FantasyPros, and data such as Jeff puts out is a large reason why.

With that being said, let’s dive into some start/sit advice for this week.
Pass Rushers
It shouldn’t be a surprise based on his recent form, but Olivier Vernon is a player I’d be starting this week no matter who the Dolphins are playing against! In the last three games he has recorded two sacks, 12 hits and seven hurries. For comparison’s sake, only four other defensive ends have more than 12 quarterback hits over the entire season… Before you start thinking that hits don’t equate to fantasy points, since Week 6, and despite a zero point return in Week 7, Vernon has been a DL1 and posted double-digit scores in all of the other six games. I like him to post another top-12 score this week, with the potential to have a multi-sack game.
Carlos Dunlap is in the race to lead the league in sacks this season and will be looking to break his streak of three games without one against the best matchup for edge rushers in Cleveland. I like him to be a top-five defensive lineman this week, while teammate Michael Johnson gets a bump to be a borderline DL2/3.
