The best defenses to stream in fantasy in Week 12

It’s kind of crazy that we are already at Week 12, just two weeks away from the start of your fantasy playoffs. Needless to say, it’s probably one of the biggest weeks of your fantasy season. Whether it be locking up a No. 1 or No. 2 seed to get a bye in the first round of your playoffs, or just getting a win in order to sneak into the playoffs, this week means a lot.

As we’ve done every week, we are going to look for a few things when identifying a streaming defense. You typically want to shoot for a team playing at home as a favorite, but sometimes, that’s not possible. The Eagles defense would have likely made this list if they weren’t so highly owned (yes, even against the Packers). Here, we shoot for defenses that are widely available in fantasy leagues. If you are wondering about an option that isn’t here, you can always reference our weekly rankings to see where our consensus is.

Buffalo Bills (vs. Jaguars)

If you’ve had the chance to watch Blake Bortles throw the football this season, you likely understand why the Bills top the list of weekly streamers. Their opponents have totaled 22 turnovers through 10 games, which is tied for the most in the NFL on a per-game basis. It’s not the only appealing thing about this matchup, because the Jaguars offensive line has allowed Bortles to be sacked at least twice in all but two games. This works out well for the Bills, as they have averaged 3.1 sacks per game on the season, which ranks among the best in football. The key matchup in this game will be the Bills right defensive end Lorenzo Alexander, who has graded as PFF’s 16th-best edge pass rusher, against the Jaguars left tackle Kelvin Beachum. Of the 79 tackles that have played at least 25 percent of the snaps, Beachum has been graded 59th. If they can’t stop the rush on Bortles’ blind side, there may be even more turnovers than usual, which we have already established, is a lot.
