Fantasy Football Stock Market – Week 4

Ryan Broyles

Football Stock Market is a weekly article during the NFL season which examines players you should buy, hold, or sell in your fantasy league.

Stock traders play the market for profit as do fantasy football participants. Sometimes specific sectors of the market soar while others remain even keel. This week we can relate such as surge in say the bio medical market to this past week’s performance by 3rd and 4th tier wide receivers. Along with the wide receiver chatter we will also discuss a running back that may still be on waiver wires or available cheaper than many may expect.

Ryan Broyles, WR, Detroit Lions

Nate Burleson coming off a huge game last week, as a solid number two wide receiving option for the pass happy Matt Stafford, broke his arm during a car crash while on a late night pizza run. Enter in Ryan Broyles second year receiving threat Ryan Broyles and his week three activation and finishing stat line of three targets, three receptions for 34 yards. Last season during week 12 Broyles garnered 89 percent of the snaps in place of a benched Titus Young and repaid the Detroit Lions with the following stat line 6-126-0.

Lions quarterback Matt Stafford is averaging 42 pass attempts per game through the first three games of 2013. The Chicago Bears are ranked 24th in passing defense allowing 294 yards through the air and as the Bears defense directs its focus onto Calvin Johnson a case could be made for Broyles to have a big game. On 13 pass routes ran last week Ryan Broyles 0.49 PPO.

Doug Martin, Sell? we’re 3 weeks into the season with an dysfunctional offense. So you suggest, after the league being slightly scarce with solid RB1’s, you’re saying to trade for megatron or Jimmy G?
