Start/sit advice for Week 8 in IDP leagues

We’re another week closer to the fantasy playoffs and with every step we take toward the promised land, our paths become a little surer as the landscape around us becomes firmer. We have a better idea of which players are in form, which players are out of sorts, and also, which teams represent good, or bad fantasy matchups. Equally so, as a fantasy owner your perspective on the strength of your roster and those of your league-mates is becoming more concrete. Bearing all that in mind we can be more confident in our assertions, and therefore make more calculated wagers when selecting your weekly starters.

If my below appraisal of some of the better and worse matchups in IDP leagues this week doesn’t help you with your decision making, the data I’m using is available to you too. Our projected team tackle totals for Week 8 are now live, as is our positional matchups chart. If that fails, I’m also available to answer questions on Twitter at @RossMilesNFL. Now, let’s look at Week 8 in start/sit for IDP.

Defensive linemen

This week’s best matchup for defensive linemen sees our first- and second-ranked teams for edge-rushers face off against each other, but before you log in to your fantasy host site and reset your lineup, it’s a clash between the 3-4 fronts of the Chiefs and Colts, which gives us very few fantasy options on the defensive line. The Colts’ top option is Kendall Langford, who through the first seven weeks has posted zero sacks, one hit and seven hurries (barf!), while the Chiefs’ is Jaye Howard, who similarly has a single sack, three hits and four hurries (no thanks!). Unless you’re in one of those 32-team mega leagues, steer clear of this game despite the plus-plus matchups.

Start: Khalil Mack, Oakland Raiders
