Optimal DFS lineups: Use the Giants’ top duo in Yahoo tournaments

We finally have our first real data points of the season to work with, making this week a little easier to navigate than last. Still, in the grand scheme of things, we barely know anything in regards to trends, which makes early season a great time to take risks and be contrarian in DFS. As always, be sure to be utilizing all the tools that PFF DFS Pro put at your disposal.

As I will every week, I’ll remind you that it’s important to remember some of the subtle differences between daily fantasy and other types of fantasy football, as well as the differences between the aforementioned DFS game types. Daily fantasy operates under a budget, so the relative value a player offers at his respective price is just as important as his raw statistical production when constructing lineups. As far as cash games vs. tournaments, remember that 50/50s and Double Ups generally have a lower cash line while tournaments will require a unique and high scoring lineup, so choose the ceilings and floors of your players accordingly. I’m looking to set the optimal Yahoo lineup this week.

Quarterbacks

The most glaring value at quarterback on Yahoo relative to the other major DFS sites is Ben Roethlisberger ($30), who is priced as the QB14 despite being the sixth-most-expensive signal caller on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Playing as a home favorite in a game that features one of the week’s highest Vegas totals (48.5), Roethlisberger is a high-floor option against Cincinnati that is ideal for cash games at this price. The Bengals were gashed on the ground last week by the Jets (30 attempts for 152 yards, 5.1 YPC), which may limit Roethlisberger’s ceiling in tournaments given how well DeAngelo Williams ran on Monday night.
