Three weeks in and we’re moving firmly toward a point where the data we’re collecting on player participation and production is forming trends rather than anomalies or points of interest. This week’s IDP waiver wire revisits a couple of favorites of mine, two of whom now reside in Buffalo, land of the friendly home stat crew…
Defensive linemen
Danielle Hunter, DE, Minnesota Vikings
Hunter is hardly flying under the radar so if you’re in a league where he is still available, he’ll cost more of your FAAB than your average defensive lineman this week. The second-year former LSU Tiger has recorded a sack in each of the first three weeks and has added further splash plays, including a Week 1 fumble recovery touchdown and a safety in Week 3, meaning he’s racked up double-digit points in each game so far this season. What makes Hunter even more appealing is that his playing time is trending up; his playing time over the first two games was just 46 percent, but he was on the field for 55-of-79 snaps (69.6 percent) in Week 3. Although it seems like a minor point compared to his dynamic playmaking, the 13 total tackles Hunter has accrued suggest he has a decent fantasy floor, and should be moved up our rankings into the DL2/3 fringe.
