This week’s IDP waiver wire offers a mixture of low-ceiling/high-floor options contrasted with some more speculative pickups. At this stage of the fantasy season, your team goals and objectives can differ greatly so I’ve tried to cover off multiple angles, depending on your needs. If you need any further advice, feel free to drop me a tweet @RossMilesNFL.
Defensive linemen
Mario Addison, Carolina Panthers
It seems like it’s an annual tradition to look toward Addison as a second-half pickup to bolster a failing fantasy defensive end corps, and we are at that time of year again. Addison has been an inconsistent performer so far in 2016, and that should be expected from a situational pass-rusher, but his three sacks in the last two games make him worth grabbing if you’re really hurting at the position. Our pass-rush-productivity signature stat for 4-3 defensive ends ranks Addison as the third-most-effective pass-rusher since Week 6, so you’ll be getting bang for your buck if plugging and playing him, but be warned that his snap count will peak in the 50- to 60-percent range, which caps his upside as a DL3.
