Week 3 of the preseason means it’s a dress rehearsal for most stud players. This will be the last, and in some cases only, chance for players to showcase their value before the games start counting. It’s also a good time to pull the trigger when it comes to your dynasty roster. Values will never be higher for some players (or lower, depending on the player), including those mentioned below.
Quarterback: Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
No less than a month ago, Prescott was an afterthought in rookie drafts. Continually taken after the three quarterbacks in the first round of the NFL Draft (Jared Goff, Carson Wentz, Paxton Lynch), Prescott was considered by many to be a developmental prospect who was years away from contributing in the NFL or in fantasy leagues.
Then the preseason started and Prescott appeared to belong immediately. He finished Week 1 by completing 10 of 12 passes for two touchdowns and scrambling for 13 more yards. But the hype train was just getting started as he followed that up with an even better game in Week 2, going 12 of 15 for 199 yards, and earning two passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns, plus 28 yards rushing. He’s played so well that the Cowboys aren’t even in the market for a backup quarterback for the fragile Tony Romo anymore.
