It's Draft Mistakes Week here at PFF Fantasy. Most of our advice centers on what you should do, and the topic of who to avoid often centers on specific names. But there are strategy pitfalls that we see fantasy players fall into over and over in various leagues, so this week, we're running through a few of the classic ones in the various game styles and formats.

Over the course of the week, we'll look at some missteps and how to avoid them. Whether it's drafting a certain type of player too high, or ignoring a stat variant, or believing too strongly in simply underpreparing, we see these mistakes over and over, and we want to help you avoid them.

Standard leagues

Mike Tagliere hits on some of the all-too-common wrong moves he sees in the most standard fantasy leagues. From following the herd on a quarterback run to opting for second-tier tight ends, these mistakes could keep you from getting to your best roster possible.

Non-standard leagues

Scott Barrett hits on some of the scoring variants that can trip up fantasy players. Joining a two-quarterback league? Or just making passing TDs worth six points? What about your flex options? Changing up the scoring system can change strategies in a big way.

Dynasty leagues

Joey Cartolano says a lot of dynasty mistakes boil down to assigning the wrong value. Wide receivers vs. running backs, talent vs. opportunity vs. need, win-now vs. win-later are all pitfalls that trip up even seasoned dynasty players.

IDP leagues

Playing with individual defensive players adds in a new layer of strategy and a new layer of guys you have to rank. Knowing your scoring system and not diving too early on guys at the newly introduced positions are key.
