Week 7 DFS Locks of the Week: Dalton looks like a prime pick

Each week, I’ve offered my DFS Locks of the Week. These aren’t just the studs, either. As a matter of fact, the cheaper the better. We aim for guys who are outside of the top-tier in pricing, but have the right situation to be in every DFS lineup.

As always, I’ll be offering two quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers each week, and then one tight end. These are players who should be considered locks to give you a solid return on your investment. This is tailored for DFS, but of course, a player who is a DFS lock should also be in your weekly lineups as well.

Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals (vs. Browns)

If you’ve been playing DFS this year, you should know by now that you need to be tracking quarterbacks playing against the Browns. On the season, the Browns have allowed 22.6 fantasy points per game to QBs, but what’s even better is how they get there. They have allowed at least two touchdown passes in every game, and have now allowed three touchdowns in each of their last four games. A solid 7.5 percent of passes against them have gone for a touchdown. On top of that, five of six quarterbacks have also thrown for at least 278 yards. The cherry on top is the opponents they’ve allowed to accumulate these numbers: Carson Wentz (in his first NFL game), Joe Flacco, Ryan Tannehill, Kirk Cousins, Tom Brady and Marcus Mariota. Looking at the chart below, it’s easy to like Dalton at home against the Browns, especially considering the fact that their run game has been struggling.

Player FPts vs. CLE FPts vs. Others Difference
Carson Wentz 19.22 14.48 4.74
Joe Flacco 16.18 14.22 1.96
Ryan Tannehill 18.96 11.94 7.02
Kirk Cousins 17.32 15.50 1.82
Tom Brady 29.64 28.44 1.20
Marcus Mariota 27.76 15.34 12.42
Andy Dalton ? 17.60 ?
