College fantasy football preview: ACC

NEW YORK, NY - DECEMBER 10: Lamar Jackson of the Louisville Cardinals poses for a photo after being named the 82nd Heisman Memorial Trophy Award winner during the 2016 Heisman Trophy Presentation at the Marriott Marquis on December 10, 2016 in New York City. (Photo by Michael Reaves/Getty Images)

The 2017 college football season is approaching and it is hard to keep track of every player on every team. That’s what we at Pro Football Focus do for you. Not only do we monitor every play and every player, but we highlight the ones you should have on your radar. This series is designed to focus on such players from each team across the college landscape for both devy players and those who participate in college football fantasy leagues.

We continue the series with the Atlantic Coast Conference. Check out the previews of the SEC and Big 10.

ACC Atlantic

Boston College

Devy: Michael Walker, WR – Boston College does not have many devy assets. In Walker, the team has a lean player (6-foot, 195 pounds) with good speed who led the team in most receiving categories. He needs to improve on the drops (13.1 percent rate) and add muscle to avoid being pushed around by physical corners.

Fantasy: Davon Jones, RB – Again, I’m not advising anyone to buy into this team. That said, Jones showed his toughness by gaining 56 percent of his rushing yards after contact. He flashed some receiving ability as well, so it's possible he becomes a focal point in this offense.

Clemson

Devy: Deon Cain, WR – After the mass exodus of offensive talent, Cain is clearly the best asset today. A deep threat, his 32 targets of 20-plus yards were tied for 17th, and he was seventh with eight touchdowns from such targets. Expect big plays and a more well-rounded route tree as he will be relied on heavily.

Fantasy: Tavien Feaster, RB – Cain is the obvious choice but considering the loss of Deshaun Watson, the running game will be paramount. Feaster is currently slotted in as a backup, but he’s too good to hold back. Lightning quick, the 47.2 percent breakaway rate could improve with even a split backfield. Expect fireworks.
