We’re in the home stretch. If you’re like me, you’ve already done a million real and mock drafts. You feel like you have a pretty firm grasp on who goes where.
And yet things happen every day.
Tony Romo broke his back and will be out for six to 10 weeks. Teddy Bridgewater suffered a severe knee injury and is out for the season. Bruce Ellington is on IR. Ladarius Green and Dion Lewis are officially on the PUP list.
Those are big-time changes that take players almost entirely off your draft board. But what about the less obvious shifts? What about the guys that are moving up or down based on improved (or deteriorating) skillsets displayed during camp and/or the preseason?
Here are some players that went up or down the draft board since July according to the ADP numbers provided by Fantasy Football Calculator. Also, here’s how you should approach that change.
Quarterback
Riser: Tyrod Taylor, Buffalo Bills (from the 12th round to the ninth)
There were highs and lows last season when Taylor finally got an opportunity to lead a franchise, but the highs were very high. In fact, at the end of the season, he and Andy Dalton both scored 0.59 fantasy points per dropback, tied for third-highest among all of the quarterbacks in the league. While only playing in 14 games, he tallied 20 passing touchdowns against only six interceptions. He also tacked on 104 carries for 568 yards and four rushing touchdowns. I have him ranked as a top-10 quarterback and based on his excellent camp and preseason play, I feel great about it.
