The Pac-12 is loaded with quality redraft and developmental talents and the 2016 recruiting class is fittingly solid. The North is certainly filled with programs eying a potential College Playoff selection. (Our entire college preview so far is here.)
California Golden Bears
Offensive coordinator Tony Franklin resigned after 2015 and will be replaced by ex-Texas A&M OC Jake Spavital. The Bear Raid philosophy will remain, but Spavital will have to replace the quarterback — No. 1 overall NFL draft pick Jared Goff no less — the top six receivers and half of last season’s snaps along the offensive line. The Bears’ defense allowed the 38th-most points and 19th-most yards per game last season, even if an up-tempo offensive attack elevates those numbers.
