Buys and sells for Week 12

Weeks 1 through 5 are gone. Andrew Luck isn’t fantasy relevant and neither is Darrius Heyward-Bey. Why are we looking at yearlong fantasy totals again?

What happened in the first five weeks of the season doesn’t matter anymore. What has happened over the last six weeks is what matters.

Most people wouldn’t believe it if they were told that Randall Cobb is averaging less fantasy points per route than Davante Adams, or that Jeremy Hill has fewer yards this year than Eddie Lacy, Melvin Gordon and even Carlos Hyde, who hasn’t played since Week 7.

Those are real things, and when digging in, you may be surprised at some of the players we suggest you buy and/or sell. Even if you aren’t able to make trades, these numbers may surprise you.

  • Yes, Eifert’s touchdown dependent (as are most te’s), but your article a couple weeks ago explains how Eifert is “racking up scoring chances”, so why sell him?

  • Paige Taylor

Thanks for the insight, Mike. You say: “Considering how well the Chiefs defense has played, don’t expect Maclin’s totals to rise any time soon”, but I would think that a better Chiefs Def would create more, not less, opportunities/targets for the Chiefs offense incl Maclin. What am I missing?

    • Zach Ware

Well the queefs have alex smith as their QB so if alex smith was your QB would you throw the ball unless you absolutely had to? No way! So if the queefy defense is playing better it means they are less likely to have to use alex smith. But if you got charzard I’d definitely roll that pokeball.
