Fade Pharoh Cooper in college DFS

This season is shaping up to be one of the highest scoring seasons in recent memory. Teams like TCU that, under coach Gary Patterson, used to be defensively dominant, are now giving up close to 30 points per game (which doesn’t really matter since they’re scoring 51.0 points per game this season). In fact, TCU is one of five teams who average over 50 points per game this season, and we got a little taste of what the Big 12 might have to offer in terms of inter-conference scoring with last week’s TCU vs. Texas Tech shootout in Lubbock.

So the million dollar question is “How do we take this information and apply it to our DFS lineups to maximize our earning potential?”

Unfortunately, there is no sure fire answer to this question. The catch-22 is that more points in football games means more points in DFS games, but the more points a team scores means it’s more likely their players are to be rostered in all types of DFS games. Still, there is a way to give yourself the best potential to score a ton of DFS points while picking players that are relatively under the radar.

Three rules for Week 5 DFS games:

1) Pick quarterbacks whose teams average at least 35.0 points per game this season.

2) Pick high profile running backs that lead their team in carries.

3) Pick receivers who average over 5 receptions a game.

When it’s right there in front of you, it looks simple and obvious, but you’d be surprised how difficult it is to build a lineup and stay within your roster budget and follow these three rules. All told, it is possible, and we’ve identified some key players this week who both fall into these categories and won’t be the obvious choices in their respective positions.
