The playoffs have finally arrived in many leagues, and they require a bit of a shift in approach for dynasty owners. For the other 49 weeks of the year, I seek a balance in my consideration of roster construction. Often, I would rather hold a sleeper with little short-term value than a temporary fill-in, even if that could cost me a few points in the worst-case scenario. However, if you reach the playoffs, it is important to remember that titles are the ultimate goal. Sometimes it is necessary to sacrifice players that will be useful in the future in order to increase your odds now, whether by rostering a second defense that has complementary matchups or protecting yourself against clinching teams that could rest their players. A championship in the hand is worth more than two in the bush.
