Each week in the Dynasty Rookie Blitz we’ll take a look at some lesser-known first-year players who need to be on your fantasy radar, and from time to time we’ll analyze the marquee rookies to see how they’re progressing. Check back each week for your dynasty rookie fix.
Running Back
Doug Martin, Tampa Bay – I haven’t devoted much of the space in this column to big-name rookies such as Martin, but when a guy has a breakout game like he did in Week 8, he deserves a little love. In the Thursday night matchup against Minnesota, Martin went nuts, rushing 29 times for 135 yards and a touchdown, and adding three receptions for 79 yards and a score. You obviously can’t expect numbers like those on a regular basis, but it might be a sign that Martin is getting settled into the professional ranks and is about to start rewarding owners who chose him near the top of dynasty rookie drafts.
