Dynasty Rookie and Devy Watch – Week 1

Jeremy HillWelcome to the 2014 NFL season and the first edition of this year’s revamped rookie watch. I couldn’t be more excited to keep you up-to-date on the NFL’s incoming class of skill position players for the purposes of dynasty leagues.

Last year, I had a running rankings list for rookies each week. In retrospect, I found this to be a flawed practice because dynasty rankings should not be fluctuating significantly week to week. Instead, I will offer the same analysis but focus more on news and notes while updating rankings every few weeks.

The biggest change to this year’s column, as you’ll soon see below, is the “Devy” or developmental aspect.  I’ll be providing weekly updates on the top players in college football who have a future on your dynasty team and in your fantasy lineup. Every week, I will cover what occurred the week before and then what games and players to watch on the following weekend.

Before we get to that, though, let’s dive into my rookie rankings as they currently stand (for in-depth rookie profiles, you can check out my preseason rookie tiers posts: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3).
