Uncertain depth makes receiver a draft option for Vikings

Behind Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen, the Vikings lack quality depth at receiver. Laquon Treadwell is a complete unknown at this point and shouldn’t stop them from addressing the position if its the best player available.

  • Drafted 23rd overall, Treadwell averaged only 0.33 yards per route run, ranking him 192nd in the NFL.
  • He saw only 79 snaps and ran pass routes on just 46 of them all season.
  • The highest-ranked rookie, Tyreek Hill of the Chiefs, was drafted 142 places later than Treadwell.

Fantasy Slant: Treadwell appears to be on the fast-track to becoming a dynasty bust, but there is opportunity to acquire Treadwell on the cheap for the less risk adverse fantasy owner. Sure, there's very little to like from his first year in the NFL, but he'll be just 22 years old when the season starts. Because of his youth, dynasty fantasy football players may want to give Treadwell a slightly longer leash and attempt to acquire him in a trade this offseason.
