PFF draft board: Baltimore Ravens

PFF is putting together team-specific draft boards for all 32 franchises using our draft rankings and evaluation of how each player fits in specific schemes.

Included are three ideal targets for each team with their first-, second-, and third-round picks, along with a team-specific draft board [scroll down to bottom of article] that includes every player in PFF’s draft rankings.

Here is the entry for the Baltimore Ravens:

Round 1 (sixth overall)

Joey Bosa, DE, Ohio State

The chances that quarterbacks go at Nos. 1 and 2 overall has increased the likelihood that one of the top prospects slips all the way to No. 6. Bosa isn’t a perfect scheme fit, but he does seem to be a prospect similar to Terrell Suggs in 2003. Our highest-graded edge defender in each of the past two seasons, he’d be an asset to the Ravens’ defense.

Laremy Tunsil, OT, Ole Miss

There have been questions about the long term stability of Eugene Monroe at left tackle for the Ravens. Drafting Tunsil at pick No. 6 would be the highest that they have drafted an offensive tackle since Jonathan Ogden back in 1996. Tunsil allowed just five hurries from 351 pass-blocking snaps in 2015.

Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State

Is running back something of a luxury for the Ravens? Yes, but they could also do with a difference-maker out of the backfield. Elliott graded positively as a runner, receiver, and blocker in 2015, and walks into the NFL as a three-down back.

Round 2 (36th overall)

Noah Spence, DE, Eastern Kentucky

The Ravens need to add an impact pass-rusher, and if they don’t land Joey Bosa in Round 1, Spence would make sense in Round 2. Spence impressed at the Senior Bowl, registering a sack and six hurries from 28 pass rushes in the game that week.

Michael Thomas, WR, Southern Miss

While they have worked to improve the receiving options for Joe Flacco, that doesn’t mean Baltimore can’t look to strengthen the unit further by taking a chance on a talented player who could develop into a true No. 1 receiver. Thomas averaged 2.98 yards per route run in 2015, the fourth-most of any receiver in this draft class.

Ryan Kelly, C, Alabama

The Ravens have Jeremy Zuttah, but they do need to consider the long-term situation in the middle of their offensive line. Kelly was our 15th-highest graded run-blocker amongst centers in this class, and allowed just 10 pressures in 2015.

Round 3 (70th overall)

Cyrus Jones, CB, Alabama

With talk that the Ravens are moving Lardarius Webb to safety, the need to find a young cornerback is very real. Jones had the 13th-highest coverage grade amongst cornerbacks in this class, picking off two passes and breaking up five more.

Kamalei Correa, ED, Boise State

The Ravens really need to come out of the first three rounds with an edge defender, and, if they miss in Rounds 1 and 2, a player like Boise State’s Kamalei Correa would make a lot of sense. The 27th-highest-graded edge defender in this class, he racked up eight sacks, 12 hits, and 16 hurries in 2015.

Braxton Miller, WR, Ohio State

If they don’t select a receiver in the first two rounds of the draft, a prospect like Miller could be worth the risk here. The Ravens don’t have a desperate need for a receiver who can walk into this starting lineup, which suits Miller; despite being very raw at the position, he still forced eight missed tackles on 28 receptions in 2015.
