Bears trade up to draft QB Mitchell Trubisky at No. 2

  • Chicago Bears selected quarterback Mitchell Trubisky with its first-round pick in the draft after trading up one spot to the No. 2 overall spot on Thursday night.
  • Trubisky was a one-year starter, but was highly productive in his limited time on the field and showed the ability to make full-field progressions.
  • When blitzed, Trubisky had an adjusted completion percentage of 76.9 percent, the third-highest percentage in the draft class.
  • Had the sixth-highest passer rating (119.0) in the nation on deep passes targeted 20-plus yards downfield.
  • Trubisky is undoubtedly the quarterback of the future for the Bears, but he may still sit as a rookie after Chicago signed Mike Glennon in free agency.
  • Glennon has played just 15 snaps over the past two seasons, and in his year as a starter in 2013, his 72.1 overall grade ranked 31st in the NFL.

I hear that. After years of being annoyed at draft picks I thought this one was GM proof. Wow was I wrong!

    Best Draft Pick Ever!!!

Was Glennon a franchise QB? Probably not. When you draft in the top 5 and you have a question at QB, you have to take chances…Trubisky was the best QB in this years draft. Did anyone think Jamal Adams was going to save the day?
