Dion Lewis still great DFS value in Week 5

Well gang, our Week 4 picks did as well we could hope. Duke Johnson had his breakout game. Karlos Williams continued his four-game touchdown streak. Allen Hurns had his best game of the season, catching 11 balls for 116 yards and a touchdown. And, the most impressive of all, Devonta Freeman had his second-straight three-touchdown game.

If you played a combination of these cheap players, you certainly finished the week in the black. That’s true for two obvious reasons. Not only did they score a lot of points, they also allowed owners to allocate more of their budget to high-priced players. That’s exactly what we are looking for: value players!

After sorting through this week’s price sheets, I’ve found a lot of valuable players for your Week 5 rosters. As I do every week, I used my prediction models—which I’ve written about in the past—to find the players with the most value at each position on all three major DFS sites. I also accounted for injuries and matchups when I made my picks.

Most of the well-known fantasy studs and superstars have been excluded. Even though I think many of them have a lot of value this week, I don’t think it’s necessary to explain why. Some of those excluded stars include: Tom Brady (FanDuel), Le’Veon Bell (all three sites), Julio Jones (FanDuel, Yahoo), Jamaal Charles (DraftKings, FanDuel), Devonta Freeman (all three sites), James Jones (FanDuel), Julian Edelman (FanDuel), Larry Fitzgerald (FanDuel), Danny Woodhead (all three sites), Jason Witten (FanDuel and DraftKings), and Martellus Bennett (FanDuel, Yahoo).

Now, let's dive into some of my value picks for Week 5. I’ve included many of the players’ projected floor and ceiling scores (PPR). They give us clear indication of who has good GPP potential (high ceiling), and who should be used primarily in cash games (high floor). The prices listed below each player are the ones I consider to be a good values this week.

Quarterbacks

Sam Bradford (GPP) vs New Orleans Saints

Bradford is coming off his best performance of the season. In Week 4, his overall PFF quarterback rating (4.4) was tied for third in the league. He passed for 277 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. That performance gave him the highest PFF quarterback rating (111.48) for the week.

This week, he faces the bottom-tier Saints defense (-11.0), whose pass coverage is rated 31st in the league. They have given up an average of 26 points per game to opponents. It would be an understatement to say this is a favorable matchup for Bradford. His floor is 10 points and his ceiling is 28. He is a nice value play for GPP and cash games.
