Over the last four weeks, Eli Manning has been the sixth best quarterback in points per game. This week, he faces an extremely leaky Eagles defense with inept cornerbacks like Cary Williams leading the team in cornerback snaps. Vegas has the matchup projected at 50 points for an over/under total, the second highest of the week. In his two games against the Eagles last year, Eli had a combined 580 yards, and has multiple scores against them in three of his last four games. Bottom line: Eli should be treated as a QB1 this week in primetime. And yes, all of our analysts have him top 10 in their rankings as well.
Speaking of Eli, someone on Twitter asked me a question this week: Eli or Matt Stafford? In my opinion, you almost have to go Eli. The matchup is better, Stafford may be without Megatron and Reggie Bush, which leaves his upside capped. Stafford is averaging 15.91 points over the last four weeks, the 27th best mark for quarterbacks over that span. He’s getting yardage, but touchdowns are where it’s at, and in three games this season against non-New York secondaries, he has a combined two touchdowns and five turnovers. He’s startable, but you’d like to see more from him. I think he’s a high-end QB2 type this week, which leaves me agreeing with Scott Spratt at No. 14.
