Baylor boasts most dominant receiver group in the nation

New offensive coordinator Kendal Briles will lead the Baylor offense after seven seasons as the Bears' recruiting coordinator. During that time, Baylor has stocked the NFL with imposing receivers including Kendall Wright, Terrance Williams, Josh Gordon, and Antwan Goodley.

That list will increase with a concentration of talent seemingly unrivaled within the NCAA, as the Bears inarguably have the best receiver group in the nation in 2015. Leading the group is senior Corey Coleman who posted the 20th-best PFF receiving-specific grade (+11.0), despite missing the first three games to injury. He brings fantastic production on deep targets, securing 12-of-13 catchable 20-plus yard targets for eight TDs and posting a 54.5 percent catch rate (also ranked in the country’s top five).

While considered the team's “No. 2” option, sophomore KD Cannon is a serious threat to opposing defenses in his own right. Cannon’s average target depth was 21.2 percent greater than Coleman’s and, when Seth Russell was under center, they connected on eight targets for 282 yards, four TDs, and posted an absurd +6.2 overall CFF grade.

The remainder of targets will be distributed between the talents of Jay Lee, Lynx Hawthorne, freshman phenoms Davion Hall, Chris Platt, and physical-monster Ishmael Zamora. An embarrassment of riches await Briles for his inaugural season, as the coordinator looks to sustain Baylor's previous domination of the Big-12.
