Antonio Gates a game-time decision in Week 7

Heading into kickoff time, a few top-tier fantasy players remain to be game-time decisions. They include: Antonio Gates, Dion Lewis, T.J. Yeldon, and Ben Roethlisberger. The following is a Sunday morning accelerated update on all of the top fantasy-relevant injury news.

As a reminder, there are five status designations players can have: active, probable, questionable, doubtful and out. The active and out designations are self-explanatory. The probable designation signifies a player has a greater than 50 percent chance of being active for the game. Questionable means the player essentially has a 50-50 chance of playing. Doubtful means the player has less than a 25 percent chance of playing.

Ben Roethlisberger suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain and a bone bruise in Week 3. His expected timetable for return has been 4-6 weeks. He was limited in practices all this week, and is officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. He has traveled to Kansas City with the team.

At the moment, Roethlisberger’s ability to stand in the pocket and throw would be very close to his pre-injury level. His overall mobility, on the other hand, would still be largely impaired. I’m doubtful he can make the necessary moves in the pocket to effectively elude pass rushers. That’s especially true this week, as he would be facing a top-tier Chiefs defense (47.7). All in all, I don’t expect him to be active this week.
