I don’t know what it is, but Yahoo! DFS lineups are some of the toughest lineups to construct. Whether it be the extremely well-constructed salaries, or the in between scoring of PPR and non-PPR. Whatever the case, we are going to nail down the strategy behind it.
It was quite odd in DFS last week, as I put together a Draft Kings lineup that totaled 243 points, while my Yahoo lineup would’ve looked a lot better had I sat Davante Adams. This is my vow to never again recommend playing someone that is iffy going into Monday night.
I wish he had just sat, considering we would’ve play James Jones in his place, who had the exact same salary. He ended up having a monster week with 139 yards and a touchdown, while Adams exited on the third snap of the game and never returned.
My brother called me before the games started last week and asked why he shouldn’t play a red-hot Gio Bernard over a struggling Frank Gore in his DFS lineup. My response was “Well, it’s good that we are playing in Weeks 1 and 2!” He laughed, started Gore, and made money.
We must always be looking forward to be ahead of the curve, and away from the majority of DFS players. Just because Melvin Gordon didn’t have the game we thought he would in Week 3, doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t trust him in Week 4.
As a matter of fact, we are going to give him another shot. Let’s see who else is in our Yahoo! DFS lineup for Week 4.
