NFC NORTH
Chicago – 50.97% of the Bears total rushing yards have come after contact.
Detroit – What could Shaun Hill have achieved? His receivers have dropped 19 passes — most for any QB — despite missing action.
Green Bay – Despite only starting three games, the three sacks allowed by Bryan Bulaga is more than any other Packers player.
Minnesota – The 50 tackles (using our method of breaking down who really made the tackle) of Chad Greenway are more than any other outside linebacker, and second to only Stephen Tulloch in the whole NFL.
NFC EAST
Dallas – Doug Free is the only left tackle outside of Jake Long not to give up a sack this year.
New York Giants – Down year for Terrell Thomas? He’s joined Eric Wright in allowing the most receiving touchdowns at 5.
Philadelphia – Don’t worry Eagles fans, order is restored. Asante Samuel has returned to the top of the missed-tackle chart for cornerback rankings. Up at 8 already for the season. Still grades out positively with some impressive cover skills.
Washington – The 19 defensive stops of LaRon Landry leads all safeties, as does his 12 total quarterback pressures.
NFC SOUTH
Atlanta – 20 times Sean Weatherspoon has been thrown at, and 95% of those have been complete.
Carolina – The Panthers have missed 15.11% of all attempted tackles.
New Orleans – A big part of Drew Brees' problem? Jon Stinchcomb's regression. He’s allowed the third-most combined quarterback disruptions (27) in the league.
Tampa Bay – The Bucs' tackles have combined to give up 50 pressures.
NFC WEST
Arizona – Only David Diehl (14) has allowed his quarterback to be hit (combined sacks and hits) more than Brandon Keith (12).
St. Louis – With 39 total QB disruptions, Chris Long is second among DEs behind Chris Clemons (42).
San Francisco – No nose tackle in a 3-4 has made as many defensive stops as Aubrayo Franklin (17).
Seattle – Matt Hasselbeck is averaging just 3.8 yards per attempt when pressures gets to him.
AFC NORTH
Baltimore – Marshall Yanda has allowed less pressure than any other right tackle. He’s given up 8 total pressures with none of them resulting in a sack.
Cincinnati – No defensive end has been on the field as much as Robert Geathers without registering a sack.
Cleveland – The excellent Peyton Hillis (our number two ranked overall back as of writing) is averaging 69.57% of his yards after contact, and has forced five missed tackles. Meanwhile Brady Quinn is holding a clipboard somewhere.
Pittsburgh – After forcing 17 missed tackles in his first three games, Rashad Mendenhall has forced just six since.
AFC EAST
Buffalo – The Bills' top pass rusher is Kyle Williams with 14 combined quarterback disruptions. No other player on the roster has more than nine.
Miami – With 8 forced missed tackles, Davone Bess leads all wide receivers.
New England – No player has made as many tackles (49) without missing one as Jerod Mayo.
New York Jets – Only Cullen Jenkins has more pressures than the 19 Shaun Ellis has picked up playing primarily at end in the 3-4.
AFC SOUTH
Houston – The six total pressures allowed by Wade Smith are the lowest of all starting guards.
Indianapolis – With 52 throws at him Jerraud Powers is the most targeted cornerback in the league with Terrell Thomas. He’s risen to the challenge in only allowing 53.8% of these complete, while breaking up 6 passes (6th in the league).
Jacksonville – Uche Nwaneri is one of four full-time starting guards in the league (along with Brian Waters, Chilo Rachal and Brandon Moore) not to allow their quarterback to be hit or sacked all season.
Tennessee – With 17 combined sacks and quarterback hits, Jason Babin ties with Aaron Kampman for the lead in most legal hits of a quarterback this year.
AFC WEST
Denver – While Antonio Cromartie leads the league in pass breakups with 8, the Denver duo of Perrish Cox and Champ Bailey both trail him by one.
Kansas City – The 43 total quarterback disruptions of Tamba Hali are more than any other player in the league … and the Chiefs have already had their bye!
Oakland – The 37.5% of throws at Stanford Routt completed is the lowest in the league of all starting cornerbacks. Conversely, only five cornerbacks have a higher yards-per-completions average on them and only one of them has played in every game as a starter.
San Diego – No special teams player has missed more tackles than Jacob Hester. His five are three more than his closest rival.
