In this series of pieces, Pro Football Focus is hammering into the value of players. To us it’s a “Jahnke Value Model” number, telling you what players were worth (by our grading) in 2013. You can read about the work we’ve done to create it HERE, but in short:
• It’s solely about what a player did on the field in 2013
• Players are grouped by positions so their play essentially earns them a portion of the positional salary pool
• It’s all about cap hits (these values are approximate)
Here we conclude this spring's Jahnke Value Model series by seeing which team’s received the most value for how much they spent on their players. Along with that is the most over and undervalued player on each team, as well as how they fared in JVM last offseason.
It’s important to note the 2013 Cap Hit will not match numbers found on other sites, as we only accounted for players who were on the 53 man roster for at least one week during the season. This does not include the cap hit for players who spent all year on injured reserve, or players who were cut prior to the season but still counted as dead money against the team.
