Team of the Week
All “Had a Bad Day” Team, Week 12
Come on guys. The season is coming to an end and a number of you are about to be negotiating new deals. You think making this team is going to help you?
Yes, it’s business time in the NFL and with plenty of glory on the line – both as part of a team and individually – some players just are not getting it done. Whether you’re the franchise QB turning the ball over with bad decisions or a safety who is feasting on play action, we’re calling you out in the hope that next week we don’t see your name pop up here again.
So here’s our list of guys who ‘Had a Bad Day’ in Week 12. The ultimate weekly name and shame.
All-PFF Team, Week 12
It’s been a long old week 12 that kicked off with three fantastic Thursday games on Thanksgiving that only whetted the appetite further for our regular weekend dose of action.
In amongst another win for the Broncos, an offensive explosion in New Orleans and another letdown in Philadelphia, there were some truly fine performances that should have captured the headlines. So we’re going to do what we always do and give those players the ink they deserve with our Week 12 Team of the Week.
For this installment you get even more reason why the choices for MVP and Rookie of the Year should be unanimous selections, plenty of Texans on defense and a group of offensive linemen who didn’t give up any pressure at all. Let’s get to it. Read the rest of this entry »
All “Had a Bad Day” Team, Week 11
Gather round one and all for I’m about to tell you a story. A story of how even the best can have bad days, such is the level of competition in the NFL.
You see it doesn’t matter whether you’re a rookie thrust into the starting lineup, or a veteran who has won a Super Bowl, you’re fair game when it comes to making our ‘Had a Bad Day Team of the Week’. It’s that equal opportunity approach that sees a number of the aforementioned rookies linking up with guys who have rings to create the ultimate fail team from week 11.
Sit with us now as we just tell it like it is.
All-PFF Team, Week 11
Roll up one and all, for it’s that magical time of the week where those standouts from NFL action over the past seven days are about to get their due.
You see, we like to break down performance so we can give you our perspective on what went right and what went wrong. This week that means looking at what might have been for Chicago, a number of rookie studs, and one interesting comeback story.
But if you’re favorite player doesn’t full into that category then don’t worry. 33 players make it onto our Team of the Week, so there’s every chance for a free agent guard come good, or veteran linebacker to make it. But enough spoilers, let’s get to this thing. Read the rest of this entry »
All “Had a Bad Day” Team, Week 10
Sometimes there are performances that are so bad, you know as soon as you watch a game that a guy will be making this team. Which is why this opening is dedicated to the performance of Brandyn Dombrowski, who, by picking up the second-lowest grade we have ever given (he already owns the first), made my life a lot easier.
Still, this team isn’t just about those guys who have the ultimate bad day, it’s about holding those to account who think they have got away with it. That might be a tight end who forgot how to block, or a defensive end who generated no pressure. It doesn’t matter – if they had a bad day they’re in contention.
So let me introduce a bunch of guys who just couldn’t cut it in week 10. Read on if you want to see All-Pros, rookies, and … well, The Dombrowski, get their due.
All-PFF Team, Week 10
With 10 weeks gone, we’re at the part of the season where excuses of rust are past and instead we’re left with the best players simply proving they’re the best players.
Most of the time.
You see for every Drew Brees or Arian Foster who makes this team you’ve got a Joe Mays or Kendrick Lewis. That’s the beauty of our Team of the Week. On any given Sunday you can have the best performance out of all your positional peers.
Enough with the motivational talk, though, let’s get on with it.
All “Had a Bay Day” Team, Week 9
You didn’t think we noticed did you? You trying to slink away into the night. Us dropping praise on those guys who played themselves some good football in Week 9.
But we saw you. When you were dropping a pass, our eyes were on you. When you were getting beat off the edge, we saw you even if your quarterback didn’t. When you were getting lost in zone coverage, we saw you then to.
And now, not content in knowing that you now know that we know you had a bad day, we’re going to make sure everyone else knows it to. Why? Because that’s just how the ‘Had a Bad Day’ Team works.
All-PFF Team, Week 9
So with over half of the season gone players should be hitting their stride right?
It certainly seems that way at a number of spots, where the competition to make our Team of the Week was as fierce as you’d expect it to be. Then, and perhaps this is done to the weak not being quite so weak, you have certain positions which sent representatives that didn’t exactly stand out in a week filled with close games.
As usual we have an assortment of All Pros, should be All Pros and regular All No’s, as the mantra of any given Sunday gives usual duds the chance to look like studs (if only for one week). Without further ado here’s some recognition of some excellent performances.
All-PFF Team, Week 8
It’s time once again to dish out credit where it’s due. Who deserves it this week?
We’ve got the usual assortment of All-Pro’s but you’ll also find some rookies on the roster with a couple of defensive tackles standing out above their move experienced peers. Elsewhere, there is a cornerback thankful for Tebow, a receiver trying to break records, and a sophomore stud who warrants more attention.
Just another Team of the Week article then.
All “Had a Bad Day” Team, Week 8
Football isn’t always pretty. Sometimes a quarterback will throw an ugly pass, a cornerback will bite on a double move, or a linebacker will whiff on a block.
It’s these mistakes that make football, football. And it’s these mistakes (and plenty more) that make mere NFL players, contenders for our ‘Had a Bad Day’ Team of the week.
With that in mind we’ve got a man who went viral this week along with some backups pressed into significant action, and just for good measure, some big name All-Pro types mixed in.
What more do you need to know? Let’s get into it.
