PFF Pick’em
PFF Picks the Super Bowl
This is it, the end of the road, the final countdown, one last game to decide the title and along with the 2011 season’s crescendo comes one last opportunity for the PFF staff to offer their air-tight, take ‘em-to-the-bank predictions.
For this last edition of PFF Picks, the floor has been opened to the entire PFF staff. Our analysis team is joined by the Player Participation crew as well as the editing and IT people that help make the site go.
As you’ll see, the gang is split, a good sign that we’re in for a game worthy of its title (and something that should make for some fun discussion at our next meeting). This is also your last chance to make a call. So, as we await kickoff, which team is your money on?

So we improve our top cards by a game over the previous week and you guys still blow us out of the water. The three readers that are now enjoying free subscriptions each finished with 14-2 marks, easily topping the 12-4′s we offered.
That’s six that have taken the gift subscriptions from us in the past two weeks–all of them now spending endless hours digging through the data in our PFF Premium section, eyes wide, smiles affixed. Are you next?
We continue our offer this week: beat us in this pick’em pool and we’ll sign you up at no charge. Check the rules below, post your picks, and cross your fingers … we’re ready to put up a fight this time.

You guys took it to us last week as our best, Ben Stockwell’s 11-5, just couldn’t keep up. Despite not showing well, we had so much fun with it, that we’ve decided to continue the game each week through the end of the season. So, if you missed out last week, here’s another chance!
You know how it works, the three best entries that beat our staff’s best will take home a shiny new subscription to our PFF Premium Stats. Get your picks in early, and remember the rules … if you beat us, you have to come back and let us know in order to claim your prize. Good luck again this week. Maybe we’ll make it a bit tougher on you this time around.

You’ve followed as we’ve bumbled our way through 12 weeks of picks. Ingenious system after ingenious system failing to solve this weekly riddle. We’ve offered our best and now’s your chance to show us how it’s done.
Potentially three skilled pickers-of-games from our readership will walk away with a free subscription to our PFF Premium Stats this week … if they predict better than the staff. Yes, the entire staff – you can’t just beat Khaled and claim victory (that wouldn’t be much of a challenge now would it?) So, shine your pickin’ shoes and post your 16 sure-things in the comments section to get in on the fun.
PFF Staff Pick’em, Week 12
Fed up with the underlings having all of the fun, PFF Founder Neil Hornsby got serious and posted a 12-2 record for Week 11 that pushed him into a tie for the top spot. That fine set of predictions overshadowed a very strong 11-3 week from Sam Monson who hopes he’ll go unnoticed for a few more sets as he quietly primes for a stretch run.
A ton of agreement is the story for Week 12, though Joe – perhaps realizing he needs to be bold to get back into things – is riding as the lone wolf against an otherwise unanimous staff in three spots.
Who’ve you got?
PFF Staff Pick’em: Week 11
Another week is in the books for our pickers and there’s no change at the top. Both of our leaders, Ben Stockwell and Rick Drummond, went 10-6 extending their lead to two games over Neil Hornsby who could only manage a 9-7 week despite picking the Broncos’ victory in Kansas City.
Unanimity from our staff proved to be less than helpful for both the Eagles and the Ravens as they crashed to defeats against NFC West basement dwellers. Who will our staff snake bite this week? Can we manage to have more than three staff members go over .500 this week?
Whether by intuition, PFF grades or simply flipping a coin let’s see who our staff has picked to win.
PFF Staff Pick’em: Week 10
Despite some scandalous scoring by Rick that has resulted in him losing the trust of the team, the feisty Californian was able to join Ben Stockwell in the lead with housewives favorite Neil Hornsby hot on their heels.
The longer the season goes on the more our team prove they’re excellent at breaking games down, but frankly not all that great when it comes to telling you who is going to win. My excuse? Well being the great thinker I am, I tend to overcomplicate things. You see my intelligence is a curse.
The rest of the team? Not so much. Let’s see if week 10 is where they prove themselves.

PFF Staff Pick’em: Week 9
Ben has hung on for another week with a piece of the lead, though the first-to-last span for the group as a whole shrunk by two games.
Determined to get some ink in this column, Joe and Nathan each put up 10-3′s in Week 8 and, for Joe, that meant climbing into a tie with John for the bottom spot. So the coming week will feature those two sharing duties as the company coffee-fetchers … and, because more fetchers equals more coffee, we’re all winners really.
Ben’s usual mild-mannered ways are beginning to crack as he finds himself feeling ever more at home in the top spot. I know I received a note from him this week offering his services if I needed help with my picks and I’d bet others saw similar coming their way. Thanks Ben, but no, I’m fine. It seems we’ve submitted matching cards this week anyway.
