PFF Picks the Super Bowl
This is it, the end of the road, the final countdown, one last game to decide the title and along with the 2011 season’s crescendo comes one last opportunity for the PFF staff to offer their air-tight, take ‘em-to-the-bank predictions.
For this last edition of PFF Picks, the floor has been opened to the entire PFF staff. Our analysis team is joined by the Player Participation crew as well as the editing and IT people that help make the site go.
As you’ll see, the gang is split, a good sign that we’re in for a game worthy of its title (and something that should make for some fun discussion at our next meeting). This is also your last chance to make a call. So, as we await kickoff, which team is your money on?

And here we are, the final week of the regular season.
Not only does this mark the end of a heated inter-office, game-picking battle for us, it’s also the last chance for you to show your skills and take home a free subscription to the PFF Premium Stats.

Showdown: The Stat Guru vs The Gambler, Week 17
Just when I thought this was heading for a photo finish, Joe turns in a five-win card and hands Nathan back two games. And now, just a week after trimming the margin to a manageable distance, Joe once again finds himself in need of a huge run.
With this last set of games to decide the contest, they’ve chosen opposite sides on 10. Joe has to have at least eight of those fall his way to overcome Nathan’s current five-game lead–a tall task indeed.
Season to date:
Nathan: 111-115-10 (32-25-3 locks)
Joe: 106-120-10 (25-26-2 locks)

That’s more like it. For this race to remain a race, Joe needed to capitalize if Nathan ever gave him an opportunity and we finally saw it in Week 15. Going just 5-11, Nathan fell into a funk and let Joe’s 9-7 week close the gap to just three games.
With two weeks to go, this contest is as tight as it’s been since early in the year and it’s now solidly up for grabs.

With both of our guys finishing Week 13 8-8 (and 2-2 in the favorites), nothing has changed except the time remaining.
Just four weeks of picks to go and Nathan refuses to slip up and open the door for Joe to get back in this thing. If they were brothers fighting in the backyard, Nathan would be pinning Joe’s arms and sitting on him, waiting for him to tire.
