Pro Football Focus makes some changes

| 2012/08/27

Welcome to the new, cleaner, updated and upgraded version of ProFootballFocus.com.

It’s the first and most obvious of the many changes you’ll see from us this year. Our ethos has always been one of continuous improvement and when many of you told us, in our yearly survey, that while you loved our content, we needed to do something about the look and feel of the site itself, we knew you were right.

We’ve been hard at work since then to develop a user interface that we’re proud of and know you’ll enjoy. We’ve made it easier for you to keep up with what’s new, find your favorite features and comment on those you find interesting ….. as well as making it look as if the whole thing wasn’t designed in the 80’s!

As with any website launch there may be a few teething problems and we’ll do our best to fix these quickly so let us know if you experience any issues on the site by sending an email to: feedback@profootballfocus.com

Another thing you’ll now see on the site is advertising. We’ve gone without it for over four years now but again we are listening to what people have to say on this topic. In our survey, nearly everyone said they’d be prepared to have it on the site if it meant they’d pay less for a Premium Subscription. So that’s what we’ve done; introduced some discreet promotions onto the free section of the site and followed up our price cut last year with another 10% reduction this year; coming into force on Thursday August 30th.

We hope you enjoy the new experience and visit the site more frequently as a result.

Here’s looking forward to a great season,

Neil and the PFF Team

    Looks great, guys!

I love your site. Tune in every morning to read. However, I really dislike this re-design. It’s not as readable as the last one. The new logo is not as awesome as one would hope. Some minor tweaks are necessary!

Love the changes. Keep up the great work!

Well, I don’t know if I’d call it “cleaner”. Very busy layout.

Ahh, being able to login/comment without wordpress breaking every 12 seconds sounds fantastic. Good work.

El sitio nuevo parece super, gracias para los efuerzos

New site looks interesting. Harder to identify articles since there is so much going on. Individual article pages look great and remind me of Grantland, but main page has too many links. The most recent articles should be featured more prominently, as with the previous site.

Not a big fan of the new logo either; looks kind of clunky due to the font. Could be brighter. IMO it’s not very pleasant to look at. (It is just a logo, though)

Busy. Busy. Busy. Hard to focus on anything.

  • Arif Hasan

    Awesome.

I will say that it looks better on smaller screens than larger ones.

  • That Man

    I like it. Looks good

It’ll take a while to get used to the new site, but I would recommend doing the logo as a vector image, that way you can play around with the size and it not pixelate.

I really like the new design guys.

Most of the time make overs take time to get used to but here your find your way pretty quick.

Plus, being able to comment without having to create yet another “social media” account is great.
And I here we’ll get a reduced price to go with all this …

    A great season ahead !

Now let’s take that plane to NY … Metlife Stadium here I come !
